As much for the photos as the bike, It said Batbike as soon as I saw it. Photo came out pretty good. Quick, to the Davecave! That would be an airbag. Stereo is great. Fully Farkled Luxury. After testing the Rune last year I kind of knew what to expect and was looking forward to it. Doesn't disappoint. Easy to ride. 1800cc of 6cyl poke. Low COG. And the toys. Man, the toys.

Did you purchase this with your own money, or is this a test bike? Bill |

Gives new meaning to the term "mass centralization" - does it come with its own zip code? An amazing achievement, but not my style. |

Don't know if anybody is, but don't knock it unless you've tried it. A gentleman on our ride wanted to ride a Buell so we swapped, so we did. Man it was big, but kinda fun to ride. |

I am leaving on a trip in just a few minutes. Just checking postings and email before I go. I sure wish I was climbing onto the Wing instead of the Cyclone. I bet that Wing would be perfect for the job. Bill |

Wow, that thing gets up to 240! That's impressive. Nice bike though. My wife wants me to get one if we're going to keep doing thousands of miles in one "sitting" so to speak. I think I'll wait until I retire. |

My 82 Goldwing was heaven on the long road. The 2002 I rode was better. Good bikes, but you can't flick 'em over and pass traffic in the bicycle lane or bomb over the sidewalk anb between the street sign and fire hydrant to avoid that "no right turn" sign, not that I'd ever do that. |

I rode one at Daytona and really wasn't impressed. Too easy to drag the pegs at nowhere near the lean angles I can attain on the K1200LT. And as Tramp pointed out, the dash is too damned BUSY looking, too. The engine is hell for strong, but you pay for that with lousy gas mileage (at least compared to the Beemer). On the bright side, however, it will take regular gas quite handily (the Beemer, like my Buell, requires premium). I've also gotten spoiled by the Beemer's Paralever rear suspension. The GoldWing had a very "grabby" clutch that accentuated the drive shaft "jacking" motion that I'd all but forgotten about from riding the Beemer and my belt-driven Buell. Funny how the magazines never seem to mention that. Funny story: When the lead rider was preparing to take the group out for the demo ride, he had to double back because we were all still at the staging area. With all the damned buttons and switches on the right handgrip, it wasn't clear which one was the actual "Start" button!! |

As always, nice pictures Dave! Jesus, that's a lot of freakin' buttons. Took my dad's GW for a brief spin...I was trying to hit the turn signal and ended up changing the radio station!! (I resorted to hand signals) I think his has a microwave and coffee maker on it too. |

I see electronic headlamp leveling, electronic preload adjustments, stereo controls, power mirrors (power MIRRORS?)...I mean, come on, these are the same kinds of things that many motorcyclists berate cagers for paying too much attention to when they should be driving. =P |

My dad and his second wife both ride GoldWings. They are spectacular motorcycles if you like touring with as much comfort and amenities as possible, but I could never get over the feeling that it was like driving a Honda Civic that you could tip over if you weren't careful. The electric reverse is a great feature, though, that should be on all heavy bikes. You can park almost anywhere without having to back in or do the tippy-toe backwards paddle with your boots slipping on the pavement to get out of a downward sloping parking spot. Never saw Marlon Brando or Lee Marvin doing that in the 'Wild One'. |

Of course, a SMART biker would never park nose-in on a downhill slope to begin with... I have reverse, but I hardly ever use it. |

>> The GoldWing had a very "grabby" clutch that accentuated the drive shaft "jacking" motion that I'd all but forgotten about from riding the Beemer and my belt-driven Buell. Funny how the magazines never seem to mention that. << It must have been specific to the one you rode. Not at all evident on this unit. |

>>DD what does that Behemoth weigh? gotta be crowding 4 figures.<< 370kg. But it's all low down. It's like a Rocket III - it doesn't feel heavy at all till you have push it in the garage. |

>>Of course, a SMART biker would never park nose-in on a downhill slope to begin with... I have reverse, but I hardly ever use it.<< Yeah - it's painfully slow in reverse too. (I tried it on the flat.) |
