I believe the XR will be a mid year release here in the States. I would rather own the XR over the CR personally!

Id go for the CR hands down. The XR looks like a fine bike but the two are in completely different classes IMO.

If they could stuff that engine(1125) in my tuber, that would be a MO-fo....

I like the XR, but not that much. Painted black with an XLCR fairing could change my mind...

1125CR is really pushing my buttons though, so it gets my vote. And maybe my $$$ one day : D

I'd buy an 06 XB9SX (though an 05 would do), and a 1985 KLR-250, and an aerostitch.

: )

(And I'd rather buy the 06 XB9SX and the BUELL DIRT BIKE*).

(gotta be platable in Ohio, which takes precious little)

1125CR hands down.

The more I look at the XR1200 the less I like it. And I am sure the XR will co$$$$$t more than the CR.

Now that the base 883 and 1200R are history the XR1200 is our only hope for a sporty Sportster however.

HD needs to redo the XR a bit into a new XLCR just for the states.

The XR may be coming sooner than later. I just saw one on my lunch break by the Motor Plant in Menomonee Falls..."MFG" on the plate. It was black and looked very cool.

This is a trick question, right?

I mean, nobody would want a 575 lb. Sportster, with less speed and acceleration than a XB9, without adjustable suspension, a funny sized front tire, no floating rotors, a crappy frame, no much in the way of lean angle, no slipper clutch, no 146 hp, no handling, that costs as much or more than an 1125CR.

Just because it is a weak imitation of a Storz imitation of a Harley flat tracker.

Would they?

You just described almost every Harley out there, but they ALL sell better than Buell.

It's just a survey. But think about the following points:

- The HD has some cool history associated with it.

- Traditional racing look

- Excellent reviews for the FI system

- As much power as 90% of riders could ever hope to use. Even at the track.

- Nationwide dealer support

Just a few things that come to mind for me. (However it is not as cool as my M2, but then what is???)

Yeah, the S1 is pretty cool. not as versitile though. Try riding two up with luggage on an S1 for 400 miles a day sometime...

decision already made, and the XR is in my workshop already : )

Even if the 1125CR had been available at the time I wouldn't have bought it. I have been trying to find something good to say about it, but I can't. It is hideous.

The XR may be heavier, slower and altogether less sporty, but that is part of the attraction. It is also good to look at, which cannot be said for the 1125CR regardless of which angle I see it from.

I really can't see ths point of 140bhp + sports bike with the fairing taken off. Anything with straight bars and no fairing with more than 100bhp is pointless as you can't use it fior anything except posing on.
That is just as true for the B(urger) King, MV Brutale, Triumph Street/Speed Triple Triple and Benelli TNT.
They all just look like badly repaired sports bikes and unfortunately the 1125CR is the worst of the lot, certainly in terms of 'styling' (and I use that word very loosely.

If you think the 1125R looks better in "real-life", then wait until you see the XR1200. I was very surprised as to how cool it looks.

Speak for yourself ; ) Its not so much about power and performance for me. Its more about the heritage and tradition of the bike, and that it will end up as a XLCR redeux for me. It will be more cafe than street tracker. Its just too damn heavy. But it will get some serious Buell upgrades before all is said and done.

I'll reserve judegment on the CR until I see one in person, but I don't think I'm going to like the flyscreen-conehead thingie.

I like the concept of the bike, though.

I think Buell should do a CR with proper cafe racer accoutrements and an XB engine... call it the XBCR.
