I was in Orlando with the fam and had to stop by Seminole..

Seminole buell was great... I felt like a stoner in good head shop... They had everything..

Hopefully once the new dealership is open it will be even better...

No Rice,
If you are considering doing this you have some excelent suggestions above. You can't stock everything but the most common stuff should include all the bits associated with known Buell weaknesses like wheel bearings, fork seals, staters etc. I am plain sick of having to order every stinkin thing I need and then finding out it is back ordered. Sux. (this is my current situation by the way)
Also if possible some parts that are not Buell like Lyndal pads, better bearings etc.

Now for the clincher- Be able to do the order online fast and with a discount. I know there is little profit in Buell already but consider that Henry Ford only made like $4 per unit profit on 1925 cars. He got rich. Volume dude. Not per sale profit but volume sales profit. You already have our collective attention. Show us the stuff. I would be willing to order from your shop exclusively just for your effort at the attempt.

No Rice, I just wanted to say you must already doing something right. I needed a clutch cable a month or so ago. I live in the Twin cities and your dealer was the closest dealer to have one. I had you guys overnight it and I was riding 18hrs later.

I cant complain too much as St. Paul HD/Buell has a pretty decent selection of Buell's and Buell stuff on hand. I also feel they treat me just as good as any Harley customer.

Apparel is nice. My only real advise is everybody seems to stock medium to large. Id love to buy a buell riding jacket but I want to try it on first. Nobody stocks anything but friggin mediums. I hate to special order one and then not like the way it fits. Remember riders come in all sizes. Id be willing to gamble there are more 6 foot 220lb riders than 5 foot 125lb riders.

What every dealer really needs are 3 things.

A "Daves" for customer service
A "Brian" (cityxslicker) for sales
And "Al" to run the parts counter.

The 3 of them could take care of any issues that arise.

Tim,
I also think it would be cool if you could organize some Buell themed events at the dealer. I see quite a few Buells running around town, it would be nice to get some of the owners together.

BRAG is now defunct, but that shouldn't stop anyone from forming informal local groups of Buell enthusiasts.

For example...Adams Cycles in Nevada organizes rides on local twisty roads with a supper stop along the way. I'd enjoy something similar with fellow Buell owners.

i have been trying to figure out what to do along those lines Joe.

there are not alot of entertaining buell friendly roads around. do you know of any decent areas that would work good for some type of a ride?

i even thought about trying to figure something out at the speedway in newton. that could be fun. it would be a huge undertaking though.

You're right, there aren't many good roads...but there are a few. Most of the good roads are west of Ames (North & South of Boone, along the river).

lakeland fl does their first saturday of the month breakfast run. doesn't matter what kind of bike. they just go out to find what ever curves they can in florida. which surely aren't many. they usually have some kind of buell prize to promote the product. the owner usually goes along for the ride so it makes it easier to put it on. one of the things i got the union hall to do back when i was in, was to allow people to get a free shirt for paying 6 months of dues in advance. maybe if you could get some cheap shirts from buell(something about a snow balls chance in hell maybe. if you don't ask you don't know.) to pass on to people who make an order of over a certain amount of money. shirts have buell on them along with your store name and website maybe. you get the point but just throwing out another kind of idea.
