Smoke and I stayed until Monday after the last two MB's and had great rides. This last go around, we made it out to the Clayton Cafe and had the third best fried chicken dinner I've ever had.

I really like riding with that guy. He's a smart rider who knows when to ease off the pace on the street... but he can drop a bomb on you too.

Thanks for the reminder, I should go ahead and put in for vacation time.
I'm going to be smart this time and give myself more than a 3day weekend to enjoy the Georgia mountains. And my new Select seat that just arrived in Pensacola should help make the 400mile drive up there more fun.

Dan, I'll try to split my time over the weekend so I can stick around for one of these Monday "hangover" runs.

Not_Purple_S2,
I am going to ride in as well all the way from Texas (lol), if my memory serves me... you were telling me (blk Uly) & my father (only sporty there)campfire stories about being somewhere on a RIG in Alabama; would you be up for meet n greet somewhere along the way if you're still in that neck of the woods and ride on in to TWO as a Buell Duo?

I live in Mobile, AL. I'm not sure when I'm gonna ride up but it'll probably either tues or wed before. I want to get up there and get a chance to get used to the roads. I hardly had any riding time in March and I want to make up for lost time.

get into piping. learn the trade then start going to school for drafting and become a piping designer. a lot of people in this business have been pipefitters. just something to think about.

+1 on neil's last comment. I went thru plumbers apprenticeship school for 5 yrs. Earn while you learn is the best way to go. Got in the local in 94'. By 2000 I was in the office as a draftsman(hand drew the mechanical system for the DC Convention Center. 2002 to present been on Autocad/ Quickpen(3D). The union has been good to me for the past 14 yrs.

Hey, Slowride...

Is your dad making it out again? Right after MB, I caught the DVD "Vanilla Sky" and heard the hook from "Western Union" (dit didit didit didit dit...)

I had to stop the movie and tell everyone about meeting you two! Then I had to google 'The Five Americans' so I could show them I wasn't making it up.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm definitely positive I want to get in a trade. Right now welding is in the highest demand in the area but I am considering piping and electrical work as well.

Smoke and I made it out to some beautiful roads in North Carolina. We even bumped into a waitress during a stop for lunch who was pretty (enough) and seemed willing (enough) for 'whatever'.

We avoided stopping by that place again.

Maybe next time, though...

Andy, when this gets closer, lets talk. We could caravan or car-pool down there. My Dakota should be big enough to get both our bikes in and it's a 4 door, so I have room for gear, like beer.

DJkaplan,
I have spoken to him about going, but he has not given me any hint he is in for the ride. In march we put the bike on a trailer and trucked them out, this time I am going to ride out there come hell or high water. I am not sure what his take on that will be, but I will work him over real good. He just finished a weekend round trip 900 miles with me this last weekend to Ozark, MO from Dallas, TX. We rode MO 125, AR 7,16 & 23, so who knows he might be up for it.

He sure did like you guys, he talked about all the guys from the campfire for weeks after we got back.

No, it was processed the same day. When I pulled the calendar up on Buell.com, it only went through Sept 08, I had to change the ending date. Either way, we're listed and should have just as much fun as last year, if not more!

i distinctly remember random 50's magically appearing out of no where...
