Go get a copy! There is a fantastic write up and timeline about Erik Buell and BMC. Also the new XR1200 is on the cover and is "tested". I'm getting a spare copy just to have.

A couple of things that I found interesting in that article and the side with Jon Flickinger. The first incite that I found interesting was the line "Buell says that attitude has changed, and The Motor Company's priority now is to develop Buell as a stand-alone sportbike brand. There is substantial investment in that direction, evident on the 1125R-the first non-Harley-Davidson-powered Buell since the original RW750." I read this as a sign of the future separation of Buell and Harley-Davidson. With Rotax ending the final hardware association. But the Buell COO side board was also very telling of the past and current relationship between Harley-Davidson Inc. and Buell Motorcycle Company. His answer to the first question has confirmed that Buell's corporate decision are controlled by Harley-Davidson board of directors. Our own dealers is a possibility in the future. How ever the long term continuing air cooled motor has been determined. With only about 12500 units this year it would make for better profits to cut cost, and a single engine would be an option. Now for the Bad karma disclaimer; just may take, feel free to take exception, not trying to convince any.

yes comrad, there should be only one bike and the choice would be clear, every bike is the same, you have exciting new colors to select ....

Harley had 39 different models last year, over lap everywhere, with 5 different engines 6 different chasis, 8 different tire combinations, 9 separate suspension set ups.... evidently if we are tied to the Harley mainship, it appears model depth and breadth is the order of the day and not the exception.

Thank You Brian, just another reason why I now believe my 18 years in the military was a mistake that is growing to be my biggest regret.
