Well I thourolly thrashed the machine yesterday. I was coming home in traffic the guy in front of me blasted into a car no lights nothing that I can remember only my open mouth at the parts I saw flying in the air. Grabbrd all the front brake I had was not enough I stopied and boom I swan dived through his rear window and smashed his roof in like an accordian which is fitting as it was a honda accord. Amazingly I didn't have a scratch all I can say guys is wear your fluking gear I mean it the front end of my bike is crushed in like 1.5 inches dash blown out but I freeking drove it home at like 5 miles an hour I wasn't gonna let some HOMER ruin whats left of her. Anyway wear your gear is the moral of this story.

Wow man...Glad to hear you pulled out of that one without serious injury. It's every day down here I turn on the news and another biker becomes a statistic. Thank God it wasn't you!

Glad you made it out alright Dave. Good thing you were able to ride it home. No telling what would happen to it if they towed it.

Glad you were wearing the stuff and are alright.
I guess you took the quote seriously;
I'd rather sweat than bleed.

Good thing it was a honda and not a cordoba. May have been a harder hit. How's your Corinthian leather.

P47 it is funny you should sat that as I am leaving the hospital last night(Iwent home then to ER just to get xray and EKG as was well) There is a guy standing outside smoking a 50ish guy all banged up I mean a human purple nurpal he says to me I got all banged up in a motorcycle accident I say really I was in an accident to what happened. I swear he says it was like the gieco commercial I swerved to miss a squirrel and dropped my bagger I picked it up and it fell over the other way. I almost laughed right there he says I broke a vertabre and road rash big time so he says his hip is all raw and shows me all these road rash things then he says what happened to you so I say I ran into a car at about 30 thrashed the bike and crushed the back of the car blew out the rear windshield and smashed the roof He looks and says you didn't get hurt I say not really I was real lucky but I had all my gear on everything full 2 piece leathers gloves armor jacket and boots and a full face helmet. I say and you? he says I SWEAR I CAN NOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP isn't that way to HOT I look at him in stunned silence and could only say compared to the alternitive what do think. P47 your are absolutley right (I'll sweat you Bleed)
I do know how lucky I am but I felt I had to share that especially after I saw your post
THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD THOUGHTS

I've sliced a squirrel in half. I'm not screwing myself or my bike up for a squirrel. I think it's the perception though. 9/10 times I wear my gear. My old man and my brother on their Harley's...nothing. Sunday he actually said he felt like a hypocrite because he feels I should wear my helmet when I ride. I'm 26, that's my choice now...but yes I choose to wear it.

I'm sorry...but even if its a 110 degree day, you can get a jacket nowadays that has zip open vents on every apendage from which you could choose to not wear ANYTHING underneath and still be just as cool if not COOLER than wearing a sleeveless shirt.

And does anyone REALLY notice when they're sweating in a full face aside from track days?

I may be out on a dead tree limb here...

Glad you're okay Brumbear.

I've had guys with nasty rash scars where their tattoos used to be say the same thing
to me about "isn't it too hot for all of that?"
All I can say is that I'm still alive because of my choice to wear all of my gear, even on
a silly little <2 mile commute. My 2 piece literally held my body together (that and
soft tissue) when my pelvis was shattered.
Had I not been wearing it I would without a doubt be DEAD.

It is never too hot and the ride is never too short to gear up....all of it, every time.

Hey, there's no feeling like the wind between your toes.

When they come out with a beachy sensible looking motorcycle 'flip flop' (preferably in a pastel color)......

I'll be the first in line!

I know I should post this on the KV but it pertanes to this thread I got every thing off the bike down to the forks and wheel I do not know how to tell if the tubes are bent and the triple tree I know the bike tracks straight I drove it home but I think the tubes are bent cause the wheel is not even an inch away from the chin fairing I would appreciate any help on this one especialy if there is a front end doc in NJ I could bring it to to possibly staighten it. The tubes complete are $369 each right from buell the tree each piece is like $142 or so so I would like not to spend that if I don't have to thanks guys for any help

You should have gone for the triple lindy. Then you could have gotten the volkswagon too. Is a little showmanship to much to ask for. Sheeesh. Maybe some parts bikes on ebay?
