The Red Race Stripe X1 was a special edition for 2000, the Blue Race Stripe X1 was a special edition for 1999.
I think 800 were made of each? Or was it 400 of each for 800 total?

cheers,
chili

Bodeansx1-
Special edition x1's (red racing stripe, blue racing stripe, carbon fiber, white lightning and/or millenium edition) don't seem to bring any more than any other x1 right now. Maybe to a collector it might- but the general public seems to view a tube frame Buell as doner bike for a chopper project. In most cases you'd be fortunate to get $4000 to $4500 for any x1-

I have a '02 X1W and to me it is priceless.

To many of us tubers our bikes are priceless. I bought my 02 from a guy that said it wasnt worth more than 3500. Uhh Okay! Sold, 2200 miles and no problems at all. I now have 4300 and have grown to love and adore my lightening. Dont know what other people think of it nor do I care. When I get on and ride it makes me happy. It fits me well and will never entertain selling.

Give it another 20 years or when the latest chopper craze ends and the tubers that are left will start appreciating.

Bodeansx1, my numbers may be off but I listed what I think the production numbers are below. As far as how many are left, your guess is as good as anyones. It would be nice to know.... I bought a 98 S1W here in Colorado from someone that had the intention of making a chopper out of it but quickly figured out it was harder than what is shown on TV so I got it dirt cheap but had to put 2K into it to get it right. It was well worth it.

What is your X1s worth? Whatever someone is willing to pay. About 4K is right in todays market. Cut that in half if you try to trade it in at a Colorado HD dealer.

X1
Year Model Qty

1999 Blue Race Stripe 800
1999 Carbon Fiber Extreme 250
2000 Red Race Stripe 800
2000 Millennium Edition 800
2002 X1 White Lightning 759 or 742?

Bodeansx1, check the CBR (Colorado Buell Rider) section on this site. There is a local Colorado Springs Group called Altitude Riders and they have a Yahoo mailing list if you want some other Buellers to go riding with.

A lot of rides in Colorado are organized on this site as well.

I have an X1 with the Blue Racing stripes. Not sure which markings on the tank cover is the number made in the scheme of things? Also is it incorporated in the vin number? I think it is number 400 in the US Version but not sure

Thank you
