My boss looking at picture of my 12Ss on wall.

"Boy you sure are getting fat! You make that Motorcycle look tiny!"

Actually, it is a pretty small bike I say to him.

"Yeah and you are actually a pretty fat guy, so stop trying to correct me!"

Damn! I hate it when he get's the last word in!

Wow, not much you can say to that without sounding whiny ( "Am not!", "You're mean!" )

One of the most understated comments was from my Dad: "It's louder than mine was." He used to have a Honda CM450, you could barely hear it.

Another funny one:

Gixxer: "Get a bike with some real power. Mine makes 180 horse...blah, blah...You wouldn't stand a chance against me."

Me: "Fine, you want to race? I'll race you....But just to make it interesting, we'll keep it under 4,000 rpm."

Gixxer: Mouth opening and closing, no sound coming out. "Uh..." Walks away.

I just got new car insurance for my trucks and as I left this really haggard looking woman on an Bourget chopper pulled up on my left side.
I turned to agknoeledge the presence of another rider, and nodded.
B!tch curled her uppper lip in disgust!
I just turned my head straight and shook my head. She honked her horn and as I looked back, she gave me the finger!

Sometimes more than I should, I hate living in Gaytona.

Tell him it appears the sex change is not complete yet or tell him that it is more likely that you will lose weight than it is he will gain any detectable intelligence.

Fbdo, must have been the wrong week!

Went to one of my local bars on Friday night, my best mate (a former X1 owner) there with his full dress Electra, another bud with his sublime "Clockwork Orange" Chop, & my TT lined up in the street outside.
3 more baggers turned up along with a guy on a guzzi calif, me & the guzzi rider started chatting away, his mates didn't even shake my hand, (which didn't go unnoticed by everybody else) guzzi-man apologised for them but I told him it wasn't important & they'd have more trouble riding in blinkers, he rolled up laughing & I got another dirty look from his friends. ***k em.

For those of you who're unaware, the handshake is a very important part of social interaction here, one guy missing out shaking hands with you can be excused if there's a crowd of people, but 3 of them doing it to one guy, that's almost like spitting on a guys boots.

Before going for a ride my friend was telling me how loud his Staintune equipped X1 was and there was no way it could be louder than my race-kit exhaust X1... After the ride he told me how he could here my bike over the top of his bike even when we were a few lengths apart. I couldn't hear his bike at all : D

you want to be louder, put a force on there. i pulled up to my buddies house when the force was still on the m2 and they thought it was a prostock pulling in the driveway.

Setting: weather is finally warm enough to ride. I'm prepping my X1 for getting back on the road again, including starting her up. There is also construction going on less than a block down the street.

After I have started and idled the bike for a few minutes, my roommate walks outside:

roomie: what was that noise earlier?

me: what noise?

roomie: i dunno it woke me up though. sounded like construction equipment in the back yard.

me: heh, that was my buell.

roomie: crotch rockets shouldn't make that much noise should they? can you fix that?

blah blah blah . .

* * *

When I had my blast (w/ V&H muffler) people were always looking at it in parking lots and telling me "nice scooter". I really enjoyed watching their confused look when hearing the "scooter" come to life.

Who wants to shake a baggers hand anyway ? It's probably a fat, heavy, slow moving hand that would have given you "the creeps" anyway. What does "riding in blinkers" mean ?

Blinkers is what they put on horses to restrict their field of vision so they don't get spooked, dunno what you call em over there.

Grumpy, you weren't surprised by the rudeness of those Harley riders were you? It is commonplace around here. That whole crowd can go f#@k themselves. Maybe if you dipped your bike in chrome, put fringe and skulls all over it, stopped bathing, got yourself a vest, and were hauling a bloated 250# sow behind you, they w/ shake your hand. Don't let it get to you, I take it as a compliment. I don't socialize w/ those beneath me and their rudeness prevents me from having to do so. Are you aware that we provide a link right here on the badweb for those fine people? I mentioned my disagreement w/ such a section and a small army of them crawled out from under their rocks to attack me. You may find yourself a target as well. Gotta love those hogs!

"Chrome doesnt get ya home!"

i think those bagger guys are just mad that we have all or more hp than they do and they spent a million dollars for their bike. im not a person who feels that what you have makes the man, i dont care if your riding a scooter, if your passin me in the bends im gonna shake your hand no matter what, unless its a rocket squid

Can we please not turn this into a Harley bashing thread? There are already a million of them on here filled with posts from folks who come off just as egotistical and rude as they claim the Harley riders are.

It's all been said a thousand times already, so let's just skip it this once.

Harley riders are people too.

Some folks are jerks no matter what they ride.

It just gets so old... sportbike riders are all squids, Harley riders are all "lifestylers", Ducati and BMW riders are all pretentious, and every Buell rider is a shining star in human society.

CRAP!

Some of the nicest people I know ride Harleys, including some close friends. Same goes for sportbikes. I also think that there are some people on this board, fellow buellers, who are just complete douch canoes. Sort of blows a hole in the theory - hell must be freezing over.

As New12r said, some people are just jerk offs no matter what they ride.

Now, back to the Buell comments...

Speaking of Harley riders, I did have one pull up next to me (this guy was the real deal if you know what I mean) at a light to tell me mine "sounds mean". Then he tore off.

I see your point guys, but they make such great bashing material. Just when you decide to let them be, they provide new fodder, such as Grumpy's experience. I do my best to forget they even exist. Maybe if they stopped acting like Gods gift, they wouldn't get put down so often.

I was wearing my Buell Racing T-shirt in Home Depot and an orange-aproned employee approached me (the only time- usually they try to not make eye contact and scurry away) and asked"Buell Racin'? What NASCAR team izzat?"

Wardan, I'd say he gotcha good, he & his mates are probably still peeing themselves watching the security video clip.

My point earlier was that I was already with 2 other Harley riders, & that the other 3 were quite happy to have a Guzzi rider along with them but wouldn't acknowledge me, just didn't get it is all.
