Say hello to my little (soon to be big) bundle of joy, Kelee.

She's a "blue" (silver/blue coat) Great Dane with blue eyes. She's just 6wks old and my first puppy since I was a kid. So we're going to have an interesting few months of training ahead. But luckily we have a head start and from what I've been reading Great Danes are very intelligent (she seems to be). Hopefully this will help to offset my novice training skills.
My best friend got her for me for my birthday.
Best birthday present ever!

"how big is she gonna get?"

That's not the question to ask...."How big of a shovel do you have?" seems to be the right one.

Congrats on the new pup, very cute.

Whoa.... Danes are just about the biggest thing you can get! Sweet, good-natured dogs though. Have fun! I don't envy your impending feed bill.

Her parents were pretty big, she'll probably be somewhere around 120-150 when she's grown.
The trouble is, she thinks she's a lap dog. Everytime I sit or squat down near her she starts crawling into my lap.

I'm used to big dogs. I adopted a English Mastiff a couple of years ago but I had to give him back when I moved to Mobile.
He was a cool dog, just a big sweetie. I miss him, but he got a good home.

Congrats and happy birthday, Curtis.

You gonna ride her to the next Badness? LOL. She's probably gonna growl just as loud as your XB!

I might have to trade one of the Buells for a Sportster with a side car.

I got a Basset that I would like someone to adopt. Just kidding. What a pain in the ass, but when she looks at me with that sad face, I melt.
Love big dogs. Had a 125lb Rottwieler mix. He was the best dog I ever had. What a mush. I miss him.

Cat dog, does what he wants all the time.
Super Hyper, I thought he would slow down... over 12 years old and he still acts like a freak on a leash....

I would love to have a Great Dane but food and the yard fertilizer has kept me away.

Make sure ya post pics when she's grown.

Man I'm jealous. Once the youngest gets a wee bit older we would like to get a blue but man are they hard to find, and expensive. Wouldn't mind a fawn or brindle (I think that's it) but a blue is super good looking, especially when they get older. From what I've read, which is alot, they make great inside dogs and don't require the exercise you'd think they would since they are so big. Also read that they are really good natured which is why I'd like one around my kids.
Congrats and I think Chinashop had it right about the shovel.

Congrats on the Dane. I know people that own them and have nothing but good to say. Keep them off Raw Hides as treats they are no good for giant breed dogs on the account they can cause Bloat and it can be fatal very fast. I also like you had a Old English Mastiff that I lost 2 1/2 yrs ago to bladder stone blockage. I miss him with all my heart. I now have 2 different type of Mastiffs.... called Boerboels (South African Mastiffs). I love them both dearly.

The dog I have now is a mut, shoulder height is that of a boxer, but I swear with the bombs she drops, you'd think she was atleast the size of a rotty.

Happy Birthday and congrats on the puppy. You know puppies are cute so you won't kill them with all the destruction they can do.

I love my dogs. I have a boxer and a collie. While they are both special, the boxer is the most loving dog I have ever had. He is also a riot. Even when he doesn't mean to be. The problem is, I think my wife likes him better than she likes me.

Thanks guys. My friend got a good deal on her. But I found out why, her parents are CKC (Continental) registered. I did some online snooping and found out that CKC isn't as exclusive and "legitimate" as AKC.
But, who cares it would only matter if I was going to enter her into dog shows or breed her. I'm going to register her anyway since it's only $12 and it's better than nothing. And who knows one day they may become as reputable as AKC. Her registered name is going to be Kelee Buell (if it's not taken)

But I found out why, her parents are CKC (Colonial) registered.

Not purple s2, In all honesty your dog is just as good it just means that the dog's come from different origin and have different breed standards. In alot of way's AKC has ruined more dog's then have done good. Your dog's background I bet..... has better standards then AKC and probably has less health issues. Study up on it you may find that out. My two dog's are not AKC. They are a rare breed dog. The breeding guide lines are very, very strict. That is just to insure the breed stay's in its present high standard. Enjoy that pooch she looks like a great pup.

That last one is a keeper. You should take that same pic, same pose, once a month for two years. The collection will make a killer wall art ensemble.

Love the blue eyes on that Dane! They are the gentle giants. Had friends that had 4 Danes in the house, the largest "Pooh" weighed in at 184 lbs.

Keep the puppy pictures coming.
