I have 2000 X1 with the old style shock, I bought the new 2001 shock it seems to be about 2" shorter will I need anything other than the shock mount #KO407.01A1 ? if so I need to find the parts

Good question. I'm in the same boat. There SHOULD be a kit for this as they put that shorter shock on as a recall replacement for some of the older ones. Anyone know the part number of the kit?

Part Number K1400.C is for X1/S1/M2. The S3 is a different kit. The kits include the new "Short Showa" shock, new front mount, and a new chin fairing mount, as well as all new fasteners and misc junk.

If you already bought the short shock, (but why would you do that???) you also need:
shock mount #KO407.01A1
X1 chin fairing bracket #M0609.01A1

I think you can reuse everything else from your current bike.
