Years ago (like 10) my dentist told me that I had to get all of my wisdom teeth taken out like yesterday. There was nothing wrong with them. There was plenty of room. No cavities. Ya, I dont go to him anymore. I "fired" him and I still have 3 of them 10 years later. 1 had a cavity so I had it yanked. Get a second opinion!!!! He/she just wants your insurance money! |

Half my tooth is gone. This is the first cavity I've ever had. I really don't want the hassles of going back if I get another one. All 4 are outta der. |

I had em took out in the chair, 2 of them impacted, I can still remember the feeling of twisting jawbone. I had to drive myself home & I swear I couldn't feel the top of my head, howled when the painkillers wore off but it was too soon to dose up again. Go for the sleepy option unless your anesthetist advises not to. |

Had three out at once. Only had three ever come in. Maybe I'm more evolved, you know, the next human evolutionary step! Or maybe I had a greedy tooth fairy when I was little. Anyway, two were pulled, one had to be broken, wrenched, etc. All the doc did was blindfold me (!), give me a local and go to town. Went to work that evening on minimal pain meds. Didn't talk a lot though! Kept the sockets clean with a spritzer thing they gave me; no dry-socket. What hurt the most was the corners of my mouth/jaw joint after having 2 or 3 people's hands in there at the same time (at least it seemed that way!). This was 20 plus years ago and I just had two small pieces of broken tooth work their way out of my gum this last fall! Anyway, it was no big deal. The first time I had teeth pulled it was the two right-side wisdoms and the number 2 molar. I had IV drugs, completely knocked out. One hour after awakening from the procedure, mouth packed with gauze, I was loading my flatbed with 28,000 pounds of switchgear and transformers and I drove 700 miles after chaining it all down. I was in a stupor the whole day, but delivered everything intact. After the delivery I passed out in the cab of my truck for about 20 hours and drove home. |

Oh crap! This thread reminds me that I'm supposed to get all 4 impacted teeth removed. I've never backed down from any man... except the dentist |

If you have a good dentist you don't need to sleep you will just feel some pressure. Four teeth, drove home, a little Motrin and no problem. I was at work the next day. |
