"But not Newton's Laws or the space/time continuum... those were just ripped a little."

Can't remember if I've done too much of that.. But every time I'm on the track.. I at least give it a try..

One of these days.. I'll make it down to MB.. Really I will..

Take it to the track. Being a knee-dragging hero on a public road seems like good fun, until someone ends up in the hospital or dead.

I'm a broke disabled veteran. If you'd like to pay my way to the track Blake, I'm all for it. Otherwise, I have to take what I can get.

If I was worried about being killed by my fellow Marines in a friendly fire situation I wouldn't have joined the Marines either. It's weighted risk and reward. I won't ride with people I don't trust. I ride MY pace, if you don't like it, you are free to ride the other direction, and I didn't ask for anyone to be concerned with my safety either. Next you'll want restricted power bikes so no one ever gets hurt on their own accord either. So please save the "you'll shoot your eye out!" ****. All of my 3%er's ride well within their limitations, and it's just that, WE KNOW our limitations, do you?

It's not really a good idea for anyone to follow Phil. Lots of us do, but it's not a good idea. Not really.

It's kind of funny isn't it?
All these people that ride fast telling others that ride fast not to.
I think it has a lot to do with what one calls fast.
Speed in human terms is relative isn't it?
I think I'm slow, I feel slow, I ride at what I feel is a slow pace.
Every time I say I'm slow, I get those that say I'm nowhere near slow.
I'll not pass very often, unless someone gives me the sign, or I'm in a passing zone, that no one can argue.
I've heard of everyone in this thread riding fast on public roads, so let's not call the kettle black, let's just continue riding our pace, and not playing catch up.
That's where I've gotten myself in trouble, I have to tell myself out loud you're playing catch up G, step it down it works for me.
Smokescreen what you doing tonight?

Thanks for the great comments.

a few notes:

this vid was edited with speed in mind. i choose those clips for that exact reason i mean who wants to watch guys putting around at 30 mph.
i didn't make the trip but from what i was told the higher speed runs you see were lead by some locals so the group did have first hand info about the roads and i know the out of towners checked out the roads first (i have those vids also)

i think everyone that was on film knows who they are i tried to keep everything quiet about the location (tried to edit out clips with signs, land marks, etc) after all like this is out for the public to see

i will admit i ride "the pace" from time to time and i have made some illegal passes but i don't encourage it by any means, but if someone films it i'll mix it and add some tunes

ALWAYS ride within your ability.
a friend of mine went alittle to far a few weeks ago and is in a hospital bed 4 hours from home.

the next time i go for a ride with someone up there, i'm going with someone who doesn't mind waiting up for those who don't know the roads that well. that was my greatest error. trying to outride a rode that i've never been on. for some, it's a lot easier to follow than it is to lead. bottom line, i can't afford to wreck the m2 and i'm definitely not going to take that chance again.

I think we should rent out little Tally and have a Badweb Track day!!

I know a couple of us 3%ers who are the slowest would be more than willing to coach some of yall newbs.

I'm all for it! I have been wanting to do a track day for quite some time now and have finally decided that I am going to make it happen in the Spring. Call me crazy but I'm not concerned with becoming a faster rider but instead a better one with better technique

a badweb track day. that sounds like a great idea. i would be there. i just did my first track day at the inside pass at mid ohio. i am totally hooked now. i learned more about technique in one day. than i have since i have been riding.

oh yea that video is SWEET! brings back a lot of memories. i was on a few of those rides. boy they were fun! i was also behind the guy with the helmet cam "to remain unnamed" when he went in between the car and the suv. it was pretty damn close. i remember puckering and screaming wholly sh!t in my helmet. but he was pretty calm and cool about it like it was no big deal. but he is also a much better rider than i....

i can't wait for MBV!

THAT SUCKS!! I can't believe the nads on some people. When I lived in the burbs, they would walk into any open garage and walk out with what ever they could grab.
If you end up riding we will need to hook up on the way down if I can make it this year. I need to budget the time away from the wife better.
Between MSF, Riders Edge, Track days, Racing & all the Buell stuff.... she started looking at me like this...

You should start working on getting a racing license so we can get a team together for the 3 hr races they have at Nelson...

yes it does suck ALOT!!!!! but such is life. the kicker is my neighborhood really isn't that bad. i know almost all of my neighbors. we all tend to look out for one another. but no one seen anything.

well i could probably fit everything in the saddle bags.... so i will most likely be riding down. you need to buy that woman her own bike so she can ride with us....

if i can find a cheap track only bike i am there. but like you i am pushing the envelope with the whole time thing too. to many hobby's not enough time....

> Also try some rockin' Rossini, Bach, Tchaikovsy, Wagner, or Bethoven in place of the angry head-banging stuff. : ]

I love finding alternative music for my videos. Especially if I can find something with a cool groove that matches the pace. How about some Shirley Bassey or Thievery Corporation? Whenever I need to relax, I sit down for 6 minutes and 29 seconds to watch this footage of Charlie filming behind KDan on his Lightning and me riding two up on my Ulysses:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbUzWSTqVGU

I like this one, too. It's me filming, and the song is "Looking Glass" by The Birthday Massacre:
