I can't really understand why people go through the trouble to do this when posting a pic on the web. Has anybody actually had something bad happen because of it (no really, not just some urban legend). After all we drive around every day with the plate on public display for hundreds or thousands to see. It's a pretty safe bet that many more people see my plate everyday than will if it's posted on a site like this, and those are people who live close to me and could actually do something if so inclined. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm just curious as to what the logic is.

I agree with the practice. There are many people out there with privileged access to information.

Chances are, nobody is going to look up your ride and steal it - but its always a possibility.
There are crooked folks all over, and it really does not take much time to blur or black out your plate. Its like wearing your gear when you ride... you just never know, so why take the risk.

I'm more worried about the people right behind me that could follow me home to find out where I live and do harm later.

I dont bother to blur it, but that is b/c the bike is kept in a garage where, even if you got it out, it would not be going anywhere b/c of a line of cars in the driveway. Also, its kept on the property of a police officer...heh heh heh.

Glitch,

What a welcome link!

You would be astounding to know how many brothers are totally ignorant of the entire, and critically important, field of Active Anti-Pschotronics.

I wear AFDB at all times but then, who doesn't?

But just to throw them off, I usually cover it with my Arai motorcycle helmet.

"All the Gear, All the time", is how I respond to any untoward inquiries as to the purpose of my wearing my protective head gear indoors, know what I mean?

gg

PS: I am thinking about micro-perforating my AFDB but I not sure of the correct pore size.
Anyone?

Our full names are on the board along with where we live (why? no clue). If somebody wanted to find you, it'd be easier using that than your plate #.

It's too late!! The Mind altering Chemicals in the Chemtrails they're spraying have done their job rendering AFDB useless!!

AFDBs always leave the under portion of the head open, then all the RF gets in underneath and bounces around.

And again, Please come before the ground is frozen.

Besides we all know that when umbrellas become the norm, we're all going to have to re-think the whole time/space thing.

Reasons to blur:

Some dick takes a dislike to a posting and uses your plate info to make a complaint on the police web site.
You can report road rages and stuff like that online.

There's some morons out there. 'It's on the tarnet so I'm anonymous types'.

May as well load it for them.

FWIW The hogs and my Harley dealer prohibit any Harley logos or identifiers on the outside of envelopes or packages.

Plain 'Porno' brown - lest it advertise the location of something still very stealable.

Not at all, it's somewhat amusing and entertaining, though wildly off topic.

Valid points. I'm guess I'm not worried about that one because I conduct my discussion on a forum just as I were talking to you face to face. I have many cop friends and unless you have some very detailed specifics as to the driving infractions it will largely go ignored (they know how hateful people can be). Plus since I never ride (drive) even after just one drink or with any kind of illegal substances (wink wink) I don't mind getting pulled over. I used to work in a very bad section of town and was often require to be there late at night so I got checked out by the police several time. It always was a pleasant experience as I was never doing wrong and never gave the officer a hard time for "stopping me for no reason".

But I still have yet to hear of anything actually happening because of a posted plate. I'm not saying all of you who blur are wrong, in fact it's always better to error on the side of caution.

OK back to your paranoia on overtime thread
