I'm going to use it every day. When I teach Riders Edge its a 80 miles a day.
I was getting gas every other day and it was becoming a PITA.

I am going to attempt a Bun Burner Gold (1500 in 24hrs) in June.

The son of a guy I work with bought a Uly and is riding to Alaska this summer. They built an aux tank that fit under the seat. I haven't seen it and can't remember how big it was but I'm sure it wasn't that big!

Here is the link http://www.tourtank.com/

I am using the 4.5 gal tank. I only put 4 gallons in it at a time. I ride about 20 to 30 miles with the fuel light on and then turn the valve. I think the next time I take it off I am going to spray it to match the frame.

That is so awesome. I want to just throw out there that you are officially my Buell Idol.

How difficult was the plumbing?

And the biggest question of all....

How does it affect handling??? Both empty and full.

I'm so jealous.

How come you took it out of the topcase? I thought it was sweet looking when it was hidden like that.

The Tourtank website is how I got the idea and then guess what...........

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/252073.html

The plumbing is super easy, I just put a fitting on the drain plug and hooked it up. I don't notice it when it comes to the handling.

The front wheel comes off the ground just like it did before, maybe just a little quicker But riding from Orient to Columbus every day isn't like riding Wolfpen. I can almost count the number of turns on one hand that I make on my way to work.

The gas tank mounted there will have far less handling effect than adding a passenger, I for one wouldn't worry about adding either one.

During my first 24 hour Marathon, I carried a one Liter sigg bottle of unleaded, and (2) 12 ounce bottles of Iso Heet. figured that combo would get me 20 miles, if needed. some of the gas stations were out of order or closed early in the morning, but as it turned out I did not use my emergency reserve supply.

Here is the question I have about the bun burner gold event. It would have to be carefully planned as to highways so as to allow for an average speed of over 60 mph and still meet the requirement of always riding within the speed limit (or conditions - rain) or am I mis-reading the rule book about the careful examination of mileage and time from the gas receipts?

Are there stats as to what percent successfully complete the BB Gold in any given event? It has to be very tough to do.

Speed Limit?? Whats that?

They don't publish times so that it doesn't turn into who can do it the shortest amount of time. They only look at start and finish times with the gas receipts to back up the miles traveled....... so drop the HAMMER!!

333.9 Miles before the light came on. I should be able to do 350 miles before panic sets in.
