Why is it that motorcycling goes so well with music and electric guitars? Okay I don't know why it is but I've always admired those who could play the guitar and had the desire to learn. So when I found that I could buy a complete start up kit for $50 (new) I jumped on it. http://www.music123.com/Baja-Electric-Starter-Pack -Solid-Body-Electric-Guitar-(Closeout)-i228731.mus ic I bought it and my wife thought I was crazy. She often reminds me that I don't "look" like the kind of guy who would ride "that kind" of motorcycle. Now she says I don't look like the kind of guy that would play an electric guitar. I got it the other day and I've practiced a few nights now. I'm trying to master finger placment, 1-2-3-4. I got the blue one, now I need to get another one and put Buell stickers all over it. It's such a beautiful instrument. Inspiration of Erik and his skills in engineering, motorcycles and music. |

I don't need lots of people, tellin' me what to do I don't need a long haired lady, to love me true as true All I need is a rock'n'roll band...somewhere new to play And I'm on my way, I'm on my way I'm a rock'n'roll outlaw, and I'm on the run I'm a rock'n'roll outlaw, I never needed anyone My life isn't easy baby, it's the life that I need I got music livin' inside of me, I gotta set it free All I need is a rock'n'roll band...somewhere new to play And I'm on my way, I'm on my way Playin' music babe, is all I know Where it wants to take me honey... All I want from livin' is just to be left alone All I need is an open road, 'cause I'm a rollin' stone All I need is a rock'n'roll band...somewhere new to play And I'm on my way, I'm on my way Rose Tattoo - 1980 |

Here's what Erik would tell you . . . .

Put me in the 'I suck but enjoy playing too much to quit' category. Took my son to the G3 concert last week (Joe Satriani, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert). Watching pros like these guys either puts me into high gear practicing or makes me want to sell everything and start golfing again... |

Funny you should say that...I've still got a trumpet. I usually pull it out once or twice a year, play a couple tunes, get cocky and...split my lip! Happens every time. |

I suck too. No, I really suck. Actually I like playing with the equipment as much as anything. It's a lot like having a motorcycle. Once you start buying equipment, and a guitar, it just snowballs from there. You always have to have a bigger amp, or a better processor, or...(it goes on and on). Tank |

Hey, Court, that shot of Jimi is awesome; that guy is the reason I play, the reason I'm a Fender repair tech, and the gateway that lead me to Miles Davis (The trumpeter, not my cat), John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and everything that rides my turntable every single day!!! |

I am close to having the 'Theme from 9th Symphony' - van Beethoven, L - down tight. Spent about 4 hours on it today. Nylon is good for not bleeding. |

Oh my God, Court, that is freakin' unreal! I've got Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" as my screensaver now, but I feel that is about to change....(I'm sure he won't mind.) |

Why is it that motorcycling goes so well with music and electric guitars? I don't play musical instruments, but guitars and motorcycling go hand&hand.I've always got this one on my mind: Call me the breeze I keep blowin' down the road Well now they call me the breeze I keep blowin' down the road I ain't got me nobody I don't carry me no load Ain't no change in the weather Ain't no changes in me Well there ain't no change in the weather Ain't no changes in me And I ain't hidin' from nobody Nobody's hidin' from me Oh, that's the way its supposed to be Well I got that green light baby I got to keep movin' on Well I got that green light baby I got to keep movin' on Well I might go out to California Might go down to Georgia I don't know Well I dig you Georgia peaches Makes me feel right at home Well now I dig you Georgia peaches Makes me feel right at home But I don't love me no one woman So I can't stay in Georgia long Well now they call me the breeze I keep blowin' down the road Well now they call me the breeze I keep blowin' down the road I ain't got me nobody I don't carry me no load Oooh Mr Breeze

Hahahahaha. . . I can do much better. Here . . . check out my desktop.
I just really dig this picture. I have an entire series that I have done that range from accidentals to some very cool stuff like a horn player walking around Times Square at 2:00AM. This one was when I was walking past one of Erik's guitars, bumped something and fired the shutter. I got home, brought the 10MB .nef file up and got this . . . I like it. |

Although this will probably initiate another series of drummer jokes, I know some excellent riders who are drummers, one cat around here especially, who just happens to ride a black 12s. Or, you might want to check out the May issue of "Motorcyclist" magazine; there's a feature on some skin banger who's not half bad............................... |
