I seldom pass along inspirational stuff, but this one got to me. I believe, in these difficult and mean-spirited times in which we live, there needs to be a message of Hope. We can all use a single image that speaks to us of love, harmony, peace, and joy. An image that suggests the universality of us all. I have been sent that image, and I want to share it with you all. All I ask that all of you take a moment to reflect on it.  | ||

Well in belgium there is a monastery that boasts the oldest beer recipe in europe and on the plaque on the front of the monastery it reads in latin.. There is no beer in heaven so we must drink it all on earth....I don't drink myself, but if I were going to it would definitely be a Guiness, and actually while in Dublin I learned the top selling beer in Ireland...Budweiser!! Weird huh? | ||

It's like very few Australians drink Fosters. That's the bilge water we send overseas. Give than man a VB - mmmm 'Victoria Bitter'. The locals this side of the Tasman drink Steinlager. Dry as sandpaper. | ||

you have to remember where i live for one thing jim. there used to be a brewery here at one time not to mention still have busch gardens here and it's the south. so for the most part bud reigns supreme around here. btw i hardly ever drink it cause it gives me a nasty headache. besides i'm originally from the pittsburgh, pa area and if i want to screw up my taste buds i'll do it with an iron city. | ||

Fort Collins Colorado, Fat Tire, 90 Schilling, Frambozen, EZ street wheat etc..etc..it is the new belgium brewery and o'dells brewery and of course Coors..but there is also Budweiser, and four other micro brews in the area..and if you wanna talk good beer then it is off to texas, Pearl, Lone Star and Shiner Bock! | ||

"They still make Strohs?" Ahem, yes it is still brewed! One can get some looks walking into a place and ordering a "shortS". The last place I saw in in an establishment was on the north east side of Detroit. I do miss my "Schmidt" (NOT Schmidt's) in the old scenery cans. by the way, I like that aussie bilge water. | ||

Ahem, yes it is still brewed! One can get some looks walking into a place and ordering a "shortS" LMAO Went to a local establishment a few months back. They had a old Stroh's sign on the back wall, I thought cool but more than likley they don't have it. Waitress comes over to take our drink order and I ask what kind of beer they have. She says name it and we got it. So I ask for a Stroh. "Umm everything but that." Ok give me a Miller High Life. (I'll save her the embarasment of asking for a PBR) "Ummmm sorry no, but we got Miller Lite" LMAO | ||

the passage of time.... "A Proud Tradition Under Minnesota Brewing Company, Grain Belt, especially the Premium brand, saw a resurgence. The old recipes were brought back and the labeling was changed to reflect the brand’s heritage and to distance it from the poor reputation it had under Heileman. Bars and restaurants around Minnesota were surprised to see a new demand for Premium as old fans began to sample it again and younger drinkers took to it as a “retro-hip” brew. In 1993, Minnesota Brewing celebrated the 100th anniversary of Grain Belt with an innovative campaign, and in 1994, Premium was honored with the Gold Medal Award for Best American Lager at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. But the resurgence of Grain Belt wasn’t enough to keep Minnesota Brewing Company afloat in the midst of competition from the big national brewers. The company filed bankruptcy, leaving the heritage of Grain Belt in limbo once again. Then in August, 2002, August Schell Brewing Company of New Ulm came forward to reclaim the Grain Belt heritage and keep the brand produced in Minnesota. Schell began brewing Premium as soon as it was able to, but the transfer was made official at a “moving party” on the grounds of the still-standing Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis, on October 25, 2002. With a few hundred people looking on, the original recipe was inserted into a keg that had been signed by party attendees, sealed up and transferred to New Ulm. The keg now resides at the Schell Brewery Museum. While original Golden Grain Belt has been phased out, Premium has been a major success for Schell, enabling the classic Southern Minnesota brewer to expand considerably. Grain Belt Premium continues to be a Beer of Exceptional Quality, a true Local Legend." | ||
