I am just curious if anyone has bought a new TT yet. I have one at the dealer that noone has bought yet. Plenty of lookers, but no buyers. Smokescreen |

If everything works out right, I will be buying one from Hals in about 2 weeks. |

If I had the $$$, I would have bought one when it first appeared. Alas, I must wait a couple years. On the plus side, my 12S makes the wait quite bearable. |

Nope, but I'd be willing to trade my RS for one! |

OOOOH my gawd, the TT is now the new Too TAll bike in the shop. Why do I feel like I am in a bad brothers Grimm Fairy tale. This one is too tall, this one is taller still, and well the SCG is just too short.... never mind that I can play musical seats and chairs all day to get them the right height... Hell I am riding MINE. They can watch from the sidelines. |

saw my first TT in the flesh this weekend at the IMS -- one of two bikes that look better in person than in photographs . . . fits me nicely, as well it MAY be the moral equivalant of the late, departed M2 in Buell's line-up |

Except the M2 could carry a passenger... and somewhat comfortable at that. The TT is way to tall for me too, but it is a pretty cool bike! |

what did you make of the embossed "no passengers" symbol on the seat? I fell out laughing My comment to the puzzled chrome shoppers looking on was "the legal department went too far!" ROFLAMO!

I asked about them, they said they bolt right on, but you must remove the side 'number' panels first. |

Kind of reminds me of the SNL cartoon for the ambiguous superheroes (Gary & Ace). "Look at them riding that bike together, there ought to be a rule. What are they ####? " |

Thin_air, have you seen one in person? The pictures really do not do it justice. Almost everyone who has seen the bike in person says the same thing. |

I am still hearing sniveling that it is too tall. And no matter how many times I tell customer X that there is a seat that will lower it 1 full inch (the Touring seat for the SS fits like a glove) They just can't make the leap. These are the people that will not try an 9 1/2 when a 9 is too small and a 10 is too big. Where is my logic HAMMER? Thanks for letting me vent. |

I was thinking about buying the TT's seat for my Ss. I'm 6'3" and wouldn't mind the extra inch and I like the profile better. I might get a set of the side plates for use with my bags. |

Tdiddy, I hadn't seen the thought here before about the number panels being used as support for softbags. For a solo rider like me (my wife hates to ride on the back), so my long trips are always solo. That might be the deal that gets me to trade in my CityX on a TT. I do like the handling better on the short bikes, tough. I think it is the best I have ever ridden by a big margin, so I hate to give that up. But I like the TT seat a lot, and I happen to really like the TT looks. I'd have to put a see-through airbox cover on, though. Cityslicker, I don't get it either about the height thing. I'm 5'10" with short legs, and I am fine on even a 2006 Ulysses, let alone the TT. What is it with folks who have to have both feet firmly planted on the ground when stopped? Being a short guy who rides dirt bikes, I never am able to have both feet on the ground. But as far as I know, three points support something from falling over. I do see guys, usually on cruisers, with both feet out at anything below 10 mph. I wonder, if you have so little confidence and control, how can you even get on that thing? |

I rode the TT Smokescreen's talking about. It's dead gorgeous in real life, the height is perfect and it runs out real nice! That would definitely be my backup solo bike right after I buy a Ulysses. Unfortunately, my finances at the moment are pitiful and SMHD won't give me enough for my 2003 Blast & XB9S with a combined 38k miles on them. |

Y'know, I saw the TT at a bike show in Norcross this past weekend, and I really didn't see anything to get excited about either way. It's just another XB. It's a taller CityX with number plates and a big nose... hardly different enough to warrant a second glance. The ride may be phenomenal, but let's face it... the look is nothing new. However, I did hear negative comments about the number plates. And I had negative comments about the yellow airbox cover. Yech. Oh, and I'm fairly certain I was the ONLY guy there decked out in Buell clothing... a shining yellow beacon in a sea of black leather and nickel plating! ~SM |

Technically, its got some nice new features above the CityX and a few nice difference from the other Lightnings that make it it's own bike. I like it, if I didnt already have the CityX it would be in my garage, in orange of course. Had I known Saving all my future bike buying money for the new Buelly Dirt Bike. |

Really? I thought the suspension was the only non-cosmetic difference? ~SM |

I did not like the number plates on the TT, still don't. But the fit (which is the glistening jewel of nirvana) is great. Really great. What would it look like with soft bags? |

Other non cosmetic changes are rake and Fork angle I believe 12S/9S: Rake 21 degrees Fork angle21 degrees. Trail 3.3" 12Ss: Rake 23.5 degrees Fork angle 22 degrees Trail 4.7" Super TT: Rake 23.1 degrees Fork angle 21.6 degrees Trail 4.7" (Message edited by Metalstorm on February 14, 2007) |

bigger tank than CityX, larger Displacement, taller Ground clearance, longer wheel base, and of course a couple of pounds heavier, wrapped in a very non orange offering. (so that would have had to change) |

Whatever the technicals may be, you can't really tell any of that from a glance. That's why I don't see anything to get excited about in the looks department, positive or negative, though it seems to be fairly polarizing. ~SM |

It looks to me like a City-X on steroids. Kinda like if I rode the City-X for a few years and was asked what would I do to make it better given how much fun it is and how little I actually ride it two up. But, it cannot get me off my Uly! |

It looks to me like a City-X on steroids. Bingo! Ride one sometime. It doesn't turn in as well as the CityX, but it's better than the SS and Uly. Mine wont "look" like a TT after I'm done with it. It's going to get a firebolt fairing(while keeping the standard TT handlebars), adding a Uly tail and side cases. Volia' modern S3T } |

steve-that's what I thought about doing. Turning it into a tourer. Put the firebolt fairing on it, a regular front fender, use the rear peg mounts for side bags, and figure out how to mount a top bag. I like the CG seat best so I'd go with that if I can keep myself from getting a newer sprint Post some pics if you do it, as I think I would look great. |

Wonder what would result from putting the TT front end on "the rest of" a 9sx? |
