installing race muffler. any easy way to take off pulley without removing rear wheel. trying to remove nuts on rear straps. behind pulley.????????????? or just have to remove wheel etc. etc. etc.

just get an extension and a swivel and put it right through the hole in the pulley, or around it. u should be able to do it without removing the pulley or wheel.

I used a T handle nut driver - it was very easy

if that doesn't work for you , you can back the axle out (about 18-20 turns). the axle is tapered and this should take enough tension off the belt to allow you to pull the tensioner wheel off the studs once you remove the nuts. if you do that, make sure tou torque the axle and pinch pin back to specs - the metal of the swing arm is soft and some other badwebbers have already posted how they stripped the oil drain plug

good day at bear mtn today. nice spin up 301 to danbury buell.
good luck with the muffler, i didn't pull the pulley, just used an extension. make sure you change the ecm and get the tps set. hammer set mine with software he bought off one of the sites here. the tps reset made all the difference.

enjoy the sound, really brings out the character of the bike!
