A friend of a friend at work has a Blast and she's having trouble shifting. Evidently she has small feet and was needing a longer shifter. Does anyone make one or has anybody run into this??? I"m assuming that the Blast shifter is similar to the XB shifter, could you just lengthen the shifter. The way my friend described it the shifter peg is right at the end of her foot...
Any Ideas???

Kevin

I looked at a pic an it looks like you could drill a hole in the lever and put a peg in closer to the pivot.

It might be more easy to install some sort of heel-toe shifter for a sportster?

There may be solutions to this in the Thumper KV section. I don't know how small her feet are but by moving the shifter on the spline sometimes the distance can adjusted to make it easyer for the rider. EZ may also have some solutions as well.

I saw a blast a few years back that had a "heal/toe" setup done. Looked like they took a second shifter and put it backwards and welded it up. The lady riding the bike said it really helped her and her small feet out. She said it was done by the local Buell mechanic, so this would have to be a custom job.

I had a similar challenge with the Blast in my motor pool -- I drilled and tapped a hole (1/4 X 20, if memory serves) in the lever about and inch to the rear and installed the toe piece there -- increase in the amount of effort required to shift was barely noticable, and the rider smiled alot more

Are the splines the same as a sportster's?
