I posted this in the "Any happy Buell owners out there" thread but felt it deserved it's own thread. I went to a dealers meeting in St Paul yesterday and here's the numbers they shared with us. July/Aug/Sept up 36% Oct up 43% Nov up 71% These are compared to last years numbers. I posted this on the other boards too and already have some people trowing water on it. Any way you cut it this is a BIG step in the right direction for Buell. I also closed the deal on going to the winter dealers meeting in Florida next month. I get to be one of the "poster children" for Buell. Not sure exactly what they will have me do yet. I suggested wheelies thru the expo hall but they probably won't go for that. If your local dealer doesn't carry Buell or aren't REALLY into Buell, go and find out who is going to the dealers meeting and have them find me. It won't be hard for them to find me, I'll be the long haired blond guy in the Buell area, probably the only long hair in there(those Buell guys are sooo clean cut)so I'll stick out "like a turd in a punch bowl". I want to talk to as many dealers as I can and spread the "gospel of Buell" Ride to the edge! Popular...I've only seen 3 M2's, 1 S1W, 1 X1, 1 XB9R, and a half dozen Blasts on the road over a 5 month span. I wouldn't call 'em popular just yet. ...but I've also only seen 1 Guzzi, a few BMW's, and 1 Ducati. | ||

171% of almost nothing is how much? It doesn't matter how much it is, the direction is much more important than the finale number. I think the year end figures won't be quite so high but I love the direction. You go, Buell! Check back this time next year, we'll see if the growth continues. I hope it does. | ||

Keep up the good work, Dave! Great to hear some positive sales numbers for Buell. The most impressive number is the 36% for July, Aug, Sept. That's a pretty healthy increase. Of course, they probably didn't sell much in Nov 2001 so a 71% increase sounds like a lot but probably doesn't represent a big increase in number of actual bikes. I'll have to get down to Waterloo next season and check out the dealership. I bought my M2 at Winona HD. I like riding down the river (everybody does) so I could just go past Winona and then cut west somewhere and I'd end up in Waterloo, I-oh-way! | ||

No I can't bring any guests(bummer I know). It costs about 800.00 to attend this meeting and you have to work at a dealership. I'll be there from the 24th thru the 27th or 28th I think. Not sure what hotel we are staying at. I'll get more info and keep you guys posted. Would be great to get together with some of you Florida Buellers while I'm down there. Dinner would work better, I hope I'll be busy all day talking to prospective Buell dealers! If not I'll be attending classes all day. Any of you got a bike I can borrow? It sucks being in a warm state in Jan and not having a bike! That's the main reason I usually don't go to the winter dealer meeting. Ride to the edge! Dave, Craig's new banner was 57 KB. The boy needs to learn how to trim the individual gif files before combining them into an animated gif. I sent him an email suggesting he try the http://www.xat.com image optimizer. Each gif file should be easily limited to under 5 KB. | ||
