Got tired of trying to find where Lake Bueller and I were talking about this so thought I'd start a new thread. Here's the idea. Have one of the computer guys on this board design a cool card for all of us to sign. Then on the 20th ann of the first Buell either email or hand deliver it to Erik at the factory in East Troy. I prefer the hand delivery idea and of course have volunteered my services to deliver it but it would be better if a bunch of us could do this together. I can set it up with Erik for him to be there. We are waiting(I think) to find out what date and hope it's not in the dead of winter so we can all ride to the factory. Anybody else got any ideas? Let's do this!

Well i figured i would start this off by heading it up. I have the director from Ukes all ready in my e-mail system. I am also gonna have Leslie put in in fuel. I had the idea that each BRAG club would send me a 16" by 22" paper with all their club members signatures on it. Then that paper will be pasted onto a larger card and/or make it into a large book. With the pages being the papers signed by all the brag clubs. Then we will all meet in Chicago on a date to be decided later all clubs from farther away can all meet in other places then to Chicago until we have a large group of Buells heading for East Troy.

Good idea. I'll see if Leslie can mail or fax something to all BRAG groups. But that leaves us with another problem what about BRAGers that aren't in chapters that want to participate. Plus Erik reads here all the time i'm sure he knows by know :)

Spidey & Dave,

Lets try to talk this through. The posting back & forth is starting to get to me. Maybe we can set a time to conference call. I should be able to pull this off from work.

Work #: 800-558-2405 x4026.

Oh yeah, my real name is Dennis I don't think the switchboard would transfer you to my office if you asked for lake_bueller

Here are some of the input i have gotten from my BRAG group so far. All the BRAG members that do not participate in a chapter can fax there signature and we will place then on a seprate page(s) I'll draw up some ideas tonight and post em.

Why do we need to meet in Chicago? Nothing against Chicago but the last time I checked the factory is in East Troy, you know, right by Milwaukee.
Spidey,
Good ideas but how many are going to travel across country for this? I think the web card would be lots easier and get more people on it.
Let's do the conference call thing like Lake Bueller wants so we can discuss this.

I suggested Chicago so we can ALL meet there before we ride up to East Troy. And what would have a bigger impact on a man point click ohhh ahhh and then it is gone or to see your life long dream come true thousands of signatures from people that belive the same things he does. People do not have to come and sign it. If i have to pay for it all i will send out 16x22 inch papers to all the BRAG groups with return envelopes then have the book bound together to be deliverd to Erik. Then we meet in Chicago as the last stop of course others can meet in places further away but it will funnel down to Chi-town before we head into Wisconsin then to East Troy. People can choose weather to come along to the factory or stay at home. Thats why i am waiting to talk to Leslie to see if she can make this a BRAG adventure but some how manage to keep it secret from Erik.

Cool thanks Bomber. I figure Buellers can all funnel into Chi-Town Meet up somewhere (Maybe your group can help with that) Fill up on Gas then onto East Troy. It'll be a while till i get out some papers for the sigs. Probally in the middle of Sept. I wanna talk to Leslie at the Poconos adventure. Is anyone here going to that?

Spidey,
I understand but if we are going to meet up why not do it in Milwaukee, we have to go there anyway. You are right about the point, click thing. I'll start getting signitures at our BRAG meeting on Tuesday night. If everyone else wants to meet up in Chicago that's OK with me!

I was suggesting Chicago cause it is the one last stop till Wisconsin. I got the idea from Rolling Thunder all the Clubs meet in different location till one final location before the go to the Wall (vietneam) All the clubs if course can meet in other places before Chi-town. I figure Chi is only 70 miles from East Troy this way it'll be a straight shot no stops for gas etc. As for the sigs if you do it soon try and make it on a 16 by 22 sheet of paper.

Bomber,
Looks like it's Chicago, can I stay at your house? I don't have anything against Chi town, it doesn't make any difference to me. Glad to see you're on board with this. How's the work thing going?
Now we need to find out or decide when!
I went upstairs to our paper stash, where in the hell do you get 16x22 paper?

lol I don't even know. I am guessing poster board cut down if you wanna wait i still have alot of planning to do. As for meeting in Chicago like i said it is just a suggestion we can meet in Millwaulke. Chicago was my idea so we didn't have to backtrack. We have a a little under one year to do this so no rush :)
BTW thanks for the warm welcome to SAC BORG Dave lol :]

I'm gonna go to a Copy place tonight to see if there is such thing as 16 by 22 paper if not i will have some custome made. I am also going to buy a Buell flag so every that meets in Chi- town or where ever the final meeting place is before East Troy every one who shows up can sign the flag and some one can ride there bike with the flag on it, that would be pretty neat.

Don't you guys have bikes/parts to sell:)

I'm sure there's some reasoning for the 16x22 sheets but I'm not getting it. I think you can get 11x17 sheets from any office supply company (I may even have some laying around at work).

More logistics questions....

Oh f*@k it...I'll call ya.

Well, just a little side consideration, but if you plan it for the timeframe of the H-D 100th anniversary you'll probably have a better chance of getting factory support since they are already gearing up for activities on that date. I understand the desire to separate this from H-D, just considering logistical support. I also understand the desire to plan it around the official date of either the day the first official "Buell" was delivered, or the day Erik officially broke the corporate ties and went full time, or the day the official paperwork was established and/or notarized to declare the company a Company (this would be the original company, not the middle nor current rendition of it).

For a meeting place, how about someplace outside of a major metro area, like Janesville maybe. Not any closer to me, but easier to navigate to for people not coming in from a southern latitude, and for those coming in from the north and west. Just another thought.

And how about this, if we were to organize our own parade during the 100th since Erik is the only living "founder" of either H-D or Buell, imagine 200,000 H-D people seeing a few thousand Buell riders parade past, preferrably at something more than a "parade" pace.

Or, how about an airial (sp?) photo of all those in attendance at wherever/whenever this is. Photo one is of the riders on their bikes. Photo two is of everyone holding up the banners that spell out a huge "Thank you" or "Happy Anniversary". The banners would hold all the signatures on the backs of them, or on the fronts, and each one would only cover a portion of each letter or blank space. Going to need someone with some graphic arts large scale planning skills for this one. Just another idea.

Okay, that's about a knickels (sp?) worth, and since I can't seem to spell today I think I'll stop right there.

Ok a little more than I planed for. As for the date. It will be the date the first RW750 was finished, if that is something like January 18th then we are going to plan it for August, that is a good month for no rain in Wisconsin. Areil photo thats a good idea and since this, so far, is going to be a small privetly funded event. IE a bunch of us are going to sign papers and ride to East Troy. Could you look into how much it would cost etc.

Well, the Buell factory does have that "blimp" they fly above the building sometimes. It should be able to support a camera. How about if we strap a digital video camera to it, loft it up for a bit, pull it back down and see if we've got any good images to capture?

Going up in an actual airplane or helicopter would be a few dollars, probably enough to just buy a digi-vid camera. Hmmmmm, then we could donate the camera to the factory with the understanding that it belongs to Buell owners and is to be used to post a weekly or monthly video clip on the Buell.com web site, hmmmm?

Anyways ......

heh heh heh, how's about we all meet at Dave's place. didn't know you lived there

Or, everybody could just meet up at Sturgis and ride to E.T. together from there.

Okay, I'm done, gotta work for a bit....
