Drop Quaid Harley Davidson as a dealer!!! They have two stores one in Loma Linda California the other in Temecula. They do not deserve to sell your products for a couple of reasons. 1. They never have ANY parts in stock. 2. They always take ten days to get parts. 3. They are rude (one exception is Gerald). 4. They don't know anything about the bikes. 5. They tried to charge me $93.00 to change a tire. 6. The manager does not care and is also rude. 7. Even most of the Harley guys I know don't like them and go to Skip Fordyce in Riverside. If I need anything I am going to Skip Fordyce also. They don't have all the parts but they at least try. They also have a couple of good tech's one named Sharky even rides a Buell. Althoguh he is out for a couple of more weeks due to an unfortunate run in with a cager. |

My local dealer (Shreveport HD, in lousyana) stated flat out they were "forced" to accept one new Ulysses...and that they were not requesting any other 06 Buells. Funnily enough, they already had a deposit on the Ulysses...despite the fact that they generaly refuse to support or promote Buell products (thier clearance rack is entirely Buell products) They are all giggly over the 06 HD's ya know... |

Skyguy, I've had the same complaint with Skip Fordyce and even found the techs charging Buell for warranty work that wasn't done. I order my parts from Daves and take my bike to Glendale where they are a "real" Buell dealer. Several employees there race Buells...John |

Thanks Euro, I also will order most of my parts from Daves. I really liked Sharky at Skip's. He took such good care of me and my bike I can not print it here for fear of him getting in trouble (: I am not sure if he will return anytime soon so I may have to go check out Glendale! |

Rockbiter1 Give us an idea of what's on the clearance rack, maybe some of us can take advantage, if you don't mind? |

Well I will defend some shops, I am a parts manager for Mike Brunos in Houma. I had one of my buell customers tell my dad that He is selling his bike to buy a Susuki because Our shop dont stock any parts. He mention light bulbs. The funny thing is that He never came to me and ask about light bulbs and the bulbs in the firebolt are the same as Harley Halogen bulbs. Now I stock common parts for buells, oil filter, Air filters, frame pucks, Screws for the body, common parts that get damaged in a wreck. "US" as dealers can not stock every part for a buell its just not how you run inventory. Now dealers like ours that only sell 10 buells a year only stock service parts and common parts like I listed above, I am sure Dave stocks more parts then me because He sells alot more buells again. I am sure if he only sold a handful of buells a year it would be different? |

Erik if your reading this THANKS for the parts network. For the past two years I haven`t waited longer than 4 days for anything, And most of the common parts are usually in stock. Last week I walked into Tampa HD and orderd 2nd & 3rd gear (main shaft) and a shift fork for my 97S1. Not the bikes fault by the way, That gear box took some serious pounding & track abuse. Anyway I orderd the parts monday afternoon at 1:00pm. Friday afternoon the parts were at the dealership waiting for me to pick them up. Thats pretty dammmmm good in my book. Lucas, good on you for stocking the sensible parts - tip-over and such. Thank you. Also, thanks for actually knowing that some "HD" parts will work on Buells as well It's too often we hear the opposite. I hope your local buellers will read it here and appreciate it - and support your efforts. Henrik |

I must have pretty good luck or maybe people just love me. I have three H-D dealerships in a 40 mile radius, One sells buells another buell parts and the third is strictly H-D. I have worked with each store and even the H-D only store has been very helpful in tracking down parts. I have called the Dave's only when the dealers around would have to order my parts any way. |

Although Bob Dron dropped Buell some time ago, I am well supported by enthusiastic and freindly Buell people like McGuires, Devil Mountain, and Vallejo Harley Buell. |

Guess I'm lucky Carolina coast HD ( Wilmington NC) has most wear out items, after bitching to the management about it last year, the last few times I was in they had what I needed, and things that I did not expect them to have, turn on ordered items is about 1 week. I purchased a helmet from them because of the improvement, thanks guys keep up the good work. |

At least YOU people have a Buell Retailer within riding distance. There is no Buell Retailer within 1000mi and an 8 hr boat ride. HOWEVER, I do have a Harley Retailer that can get me any part I require provided I have the part number. They usually have my parts within a day or so as well. |

Parts? You guys are complaining about parts? It took the local dealership (Gilbert's) 4 DAYS to prep my bike for delivery to me. They had to change the battery, that's it. Is that disinterest or what? They have so many left overs you can buy new Buell's that are 3 years old. And they want full price for all of them. I'll gladly go 8hrs and a boat ride to stay away from these people. Took them 7 weeks to replace motor, need a weeks lead time and 3 days with the bike to change tires that are off the bike! I think that's 90% of the problem with buying Buell's, you can't get them serviced without pulling teeth and being treated like the red headed step child while your at the dealership. I love my bike dearly, and not just because I can touch the ground on it, but really HATE the dealership dealings. Anyone else in Michigan have any suggestions? |

Once again, although it will never happen, get Buells out of the Harley Dealerships. Sell them with bikes that motorcyclists ride, not "bikers". Sell them with Ducs, Triumphs, Guzzis, etc. I can't even talk to people in Harley shops. The employees and customers seem to be equally clueless about anything but Harleys, and are completely clueless about performance bikes. One notable exception was Brian's HD in Philly. Some of the techs actually ride multiple brands and are really into bikes. However, the showroom is typical HD atmosphere: leather vests???, chaps??? If you are into that stuff that is great, enjoy the lifestyle, but for crying out loud, the Buells do not fit in. |

Since everyone always complains about dealerships, I want to give a big thumbs up to Brunswick HD in Troy NY. They don't know much about Buells, but they ALWAYS have the part in stock. On the rare occasion they are out they get it in a couple of days. Also, I asked someone on the sales floor if they had any new Buells yet and she told me "yep, got a new long one out back." |

"5. They tried to charge me $93.00 to change a tire." Sounds like my local dealer. They offered to replace my worn out rear D207 for $312. Oddly enough, they are the cheapest place in town to get a tire mounted and balanced if you bring your wheel and new tire - about $21 plus tax. |

Only Buell dealer close to here just got out of the Buell business. Now just sells H-D. Main reason I got rid of the Duc and bought a Buell was due to poor dealer support and availability. |

The Buell dealer by me wanted to charge me $229 plus tax for a replacement rear D207 and then another $75 to mount it. I said no thanks and then bought the same tire online for $110. When i went back they got all mad about ME not supporting my local dealer by buying parts online and refused to mount it. I mean talk about a markup in price charging me $120 more for the same tire and then i`m the bad guy for not buying it? Its experiences like this that make me want to have nothing to do with Buells. I know i`m just mad now and some Jap dealers do it to, but it seems like wayyyyy more Buell dealers are like this. |

I think alot of it comes from teh market of the H-D dealer in the last 10 years(some of this info is from my father, whom has been riding since the 70s,adn his father, and my mothers father both used to work for Indian in Springfield MA.) Anyway, when being a "Biker" became the cool thing to do, A Harley became a high priced admission to a club, or something like that. NOW, I am not saying the anyone who rides a Harley is a poser... BUT, when we get these people who only want Chrome, and a clean bike, and only put 600 miles in 2 years on their bikes....WTF? I sometimes ride up to the local dealership to b/s with my buddy, though he lives down the street, usually only do it while its raining hard.. I love the looks from people while I answer their question, "You trying to get out of the rain?" Huh, no, was out for a ride, and figured I woudl swing by and see Joe.... "But its raining..." Yeah, and you can only get so wet..... "You are crazy, MY biek only gets wet when I wash it on Friday".... That is worth it right there.... I know this is a long sensless post, but, it shoudl help put into perspective, we are riders/bikers. We ride our machines, and demand the best from them. I for one sure dont baby mine, I am not that great at keeping up with the maintance on it, as I hate to have it off the road for more than a few hours...It is my transportation...period.... Erik, if you can do anything, just keep up with building us these incredible bikes called Buells. Mine has given me more smiles, less down time, and more confused looks than any other bike I have ridden/owned. thanks. Chase |

Our local dealer gave up Buell, but thats a good thing....they never had parts and their service people weren't very good anyways. We go to Glendale now for parts or Biggs, though they won't deal on Buells at all. This has caused everyone to go elsewhere to buy them. The ONLY PLACE to get tires changed in California is CYCLE GEAR!!!!!!!!! For both tires(Dunlop 208,Pilot Roads or Sports or just about any other standard) and mounting is $250.00.....This is wheel off price and includes mount and balance. The Pirelli Scorpions and Diablos they want $270 to mount and balance. If you bring in your own tires they charge $25.00 to mount and balance.....even Chapparal can't do this as cheaply and Cycle Gears are all around. If your in SoCal go to Fullerton ask for Todd,in Laguna Niguel ask for Ken! |

I can buy tires online cheaper than here and I work here! I don't, cause it isn't that much difference with my discount and I do work here. I mount them up myself(with Ernie's help), one of the perks of the job! The big tire places buy them for a lot less than most shops, HD,Buell or other brand can. That's just the way it is. But, don't be surprised when the dealer is a little put off when you walk in with your tires you paid less for than he does. It is not a perfect world. Not saying they shouldn't mount them up for you but you should be able to understand why they aren't thrilled about it. |

I get my tires mounted and inspections done cheap...all it costs me for both is a 12 pack of beer. It works out because I can order the tires from wherever and save more. Speaking of tires...I went to the local sportbike shop to have my buddy mount a new front tire on the R. He went to dynamically balance it and couldn't. He didn't have the right size pieces to fit into the bearings. The rotor doesn't fit to the pad, etc. End result. Put it on the bar and do a static balance. |

Make sure the garage is insulated and you have at least an electric heater in there. Then you can keep an eye open to make sure your X is safe. Just go in to the house on Sundays for a good old fashioned homecooked meal. Ha Ha |

My local independent shop in Buena Vista VA (TNT Motorsports)sells tires for a little bit more than the Internet, and mounts and balances them (wheel off) for under $10 (it just doesn't take that long, guys, if you know what you're doing!)He has a steady stream of the local HD riders as customers... As for the wheel off thing:
