I'm not into CF, myself...but that's just me. I was always stunned by guys who CF their bikes out for weight deficit, but supersize their Mickey D orders... Anyway- It seems like CF flyscreens and front fenders (I know, there are already a bunch out there) will always do well, because of how much they change the machine's appearance. Tailpieces in CF would rock,a nd they would be easy to Manufacture... | ||

Muffler, wheels, primary cover, tail section, fairing mount. In that order. Kevin Drum says he'll have the muffler taken care of (and it looks like it has the added benefit of being the best power solution too, so that's a bonus), I don't think I'd trust the wheels to anyone other than a company with LOTS of experience so start on the Primary cover  . | ||

If I had an XB it would have to be the frame and swing arm as well as the bodywork. For my S1W a primary cover and cam \ timing cover - but hey neither's gonna happen for either Buell right? LOL Rocket | ||

I built the CF tailpiece in my profile pic. Truthfully, I'd probably have been better off with fiberglass with the abuse I've given it. Does save a tad weight but I also agree, if I'd lay off the desserts, I'd do a lot better on saving weight (probably feel better too). and NO - I don't do carbon fiber for others. Just for the team. I've munched the tailpiece and replaced the bellypan a few times. The fairing has been busted up a couple times as well. My take is that if it's vulnerable to damage, stay with glass. It's kinda like chrome. Looks good. In truth, I'd be more likely to use it on my streetbike than racebike since I beat the snot out of the race bike so much more. Also, unless you get legitimately engineered/thought out pieces like American Sport Bike or Trojan, don't bother spending the money. You're not saving any weight on the lower-quality wet laid-up carbon. | ||

No bling add ons on my S1W. All the CF I've used replaces the plastic original stuff. In the case of the front hugger and bikini fairing, within a matter of weeks \ miles they were stone chipped terribly and especially the hugger the paint was peeling like dead skin. The wheels - ever compared your Buell wheels weight to a Dymag wheels? I have and they aren't bling. They work! The rear hugger I finally gave up on. It's ugly anyway and makes the rear of the S1's look overweight. Without a rear hugger the S1's look like big dirt bikes. Sure I went overboard and fitted a CF belly pan. Cleans up the look of that ugly bean tin rear shock. I chopped up an old damaged CF belly pan to make a mounting for the billet diode rear light I recently fitted. I'm very pleased with the outcome. I shaped the backing plate the same as the S1 light unit then fitted the diode unit on top of it. Looks great even if I do say so myself. Anyone who says they don't like the look of CF or says it's just bling - they're jealous man HAHAHAHHAHAHHA  Rocket | ||

I like some of the Carbon frame puck covers I've seen on some of the bikes on this board. I also like the idea of valve covers. I would like to see any after market wheels for the XB, carbon or not. | ||

I already have it...an S2 style front fender. Looks great, saves weight, and won't get bashed in a crash. The only problem with it is that after a few years the sun has degraded it some. I'm gonna have to paint it. | ||

Only tested the ZTL set up once during a demo ride, but found them very easy to control and I was expecting a big difference (read: doing an endo if I got a little heavy handed) which just wasn't there with normal brake modulation. | ||

They aren't more powerful as such (they'll still faceplant you at ANY speed though) but they have some (read MANY) very real benefits in the handling dept. | ||

For all Buells? I guess the only thing I can think of would be barend mirrors. I like CF, I have the frame protectors, fly screen, oil scoop, and soon have the insert for my tea strainer. For all XB models, I'd like an air box cover I could afford. | ||

The only piece of CF I had was the rear fender. It vibrated itself into pieces twice so I got rid of it. I now use a cut down one. | ||

The same thing is happening to my rear fender. It sucks because I LOVE the look of it. It cleans up the rear nicely. Make one of those with more structural integrity and I'll be the first in line. | ||

Trojan and possibly American Sport Bike sell one with better structural integrity. The one at Trojan at least has a ridge down the center, and Al's may as well. | ||

I have the one from Al at American Sport Bike. It's one of the most beautifully crafted pieces of carbon I've ever seen. But structurally, it may be lacking. The initial fit was lopsided. So I had to insert a small plastic washer to mount the fender in line with my rear tire. In hindsite, this may be the culprit of the "flop" affect I'm getting as I go over rough pavement. Perhaps the mounting point of the fender needs to be in direct contact with the swingarm to retain 100% structural integrity. M1, do you have the one from American Sport Bike or Trojan?
