Looking to organize some of the archives into a searchable database, I ran accross the following. My jaw hit the floor, then I started to cry. (sniffle)
Quote:By Brian Hengeveld on Tuesday, January 19, 1999 - 08:50 pm: PARTS DELIVERY: Are you kidding? It was beautiful in the Philly area this past weekend so I thought I'd take the S3 out for a spin. With melting snow on the ground I knew I'd be cleaning her up afterward. So, I rode down to Brian's HD in Langhorne, PA to simply purchase some Mother's Wheel Polish for the P/Ms. As I walked up to the counter to complete my small transaction, there it was! A FRIGGIN 99 S3 seat sitting behind the counter. I put the cash back in my pocket and whipped out the plastic. Has Buell's parts delivery gotten better? Hell Yeah! They had the part there before I realized I wanted it! Brian P.S. To tell the truth, someone had just returned the seat because he was worried about it scratching his paint. Something about the staples on the underside of the saddle. I DID have to order a new heat shield after the wife hopped of her Sportster before putting down the kickstand. It fell into my bike and dented the shield. I ordered it from the dealer and had it within 2 weeks. I haven't had any problems like the ones I've read about here. I'm sold on the Buell Product and Service. I won't ever purchase another brand of bike. Hell, I might as well just get the Pegasus Tattoo now. Contrary to what my VFR800 buddy may say, Buells Rule!

There is no story you tools! I'm just keeping my promise and not stirring the pot on Blake's most excellent board. I check in every now and again. Especially since I saw this little thread! Did I really make that much of a comotion? No hard feelings Mr. Casto. Wonder if Aaron has ventured in here at all. I understand that he and one of my ego aliases have very constructive conversations over the net. Makes the contact patch conversations much more volatile and entertaining. Brianh: AKA Cecil |

P.S. Bring on the archives Blake. I can't wait to read my ignorance and misguided enthusiasm on what eventually became a disappointing experience, to say the least. And just so you know Sprocket Pecker, I still have the S3 and it runs just fine. As long as I don't ride her on a regular basis. And the ZX9 just takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. Gave it a good flogging last Friday with Sleeper. Good fun. |

Brian, you weird MF, how ya doing? How's the Mean Green Machine treating you. Hope everything is OK in your world. Not that you really care but, my M2 has been putting along just fine for a year and a half and 15,000 miles. The dealers in my neighborhood are mostly worthless but the bike and I are doing just fine. Take care of your self, RaY2K |

Quote:By Brian Hengeveld (Brianh) on Monday, March 20, 2000 - 07:39 pm: Frame Geometry: I know nothing about it. All I can say is that my bike doesn't move off its line for anything! Case in point: I was cruising down River Road South on my way into New Hope, PA yesterday. I was cruising at around 50-55mph through this nice little S turn at the beginning of town. Sign says to do 25mph through it. As always, I was practicing the good habit of looking through my turn. Which is why I did not see the largest sunken manhole cover on Earth in the middle of my left hand sweep. This thing is so deep that my front tire must have gone out of view for a second. Well, I hit this thing in a full lean just before I was about to throttle out of the turn. BANG!!!!! BANG!!!! Scared the heck out of me! For a split second I thought this was it. I'm done. But you know what? That S3 didn't move off of it's line by even one millimeter. I mean it stayed rock solid through this man made pot hole from H&ll unbelievably well. Frame Geometry? Don't know what the numbers mean myself. All I know is that Erik's design makes me look like a much better rider than I really am. She handles like a dream.
He really is a swell guy. |
