I wanted to name my daughter Nicole (Nic or Nikky for short) but the wife hated it....

She assumed it had something to do with an old girlfriend (which it didn't...I just really like the name)

We settled on Emma Madelyn

My sons name is Harley Pepper and my daughters India Pepper. After what we've put them through I'm very proud of them both

If I had another boy I'd call him Red irrespective of his surname. I love the name Sunny too, for a girl or boy but prefer it for a boy.

what will prolly happen is we will have 3-4 names and when she pops out we will know which one fits...

I just hope we don't have one of those kids that everyone is like "wow, what cute.............ears, that baby has..."

Rocket, in your case I think Cayenne would have been an appropriate name for your offspring. YOu know I love ya better'n my favorite socks, honey!

If my last name was Bell, I think I would name my little girl Anna. Maybe Sarah Anna Bell. Anna Bell is a very sweet name that makes you think of a little curly, dark haired girl with pink cheeks.

My friend Tarzan said you should call her "GIRL"

I've always liked Kimberly as a girls name. I have a granddaughter named Sierra, which is a pretty cool name too.

It really is a tough one for lots of people, especially when dealing with traditional family names,

Lots of good ones above!

Just be advised, whatever you name her, she'll probably hate the name when she becomes a teenager!

Some friends of mine were having a real hard time naming their daughter, nothing was working out or seemed to fit the new childs personality or 'beingness', for lack of a more descriptive term. Their minister came in to see the baby and was holding her and asked what "Juliette's" middle name was. Nobody had mentioned this name to anyone before, and the minister said he was sure he heard that was her name. The baby started smiling and actually laughing when he said that name. That's been her name since and she just graduated from college. The parents swear she named herself! So maybe it's sometimes smart to wait and see what the kid thinks about it all.

AL, (but my mom calls me Allan)

Yeah but there's already the Red Hot Chili Peppers live and kicking RT, and Pammy darling haven't Porsche named their four wheel drive thing Cayenne? Yuk!!

However.........................TOBASCO'S a different story. No one would be stupid enough to call a vehicle that. People on the other hand are different thus it seems Frank Zappa proved when he named his kids.

I don't have any suggestions for names, but I do want to say not to give so much thought to the nickname thing. there is nothing wrong with being able to change a name to shorten it or add things. sometimes nicknames add to a persons character. (look at all the big fat men nicknamed tiny). kids are always going to change names and poke fun. it is all part of growing up. hopefully you can teach your child to shrug it off. kids stop with the teasing in a hurry when they see it has no effect.

if you think i say this because i was never picked on, i ask you to look at my name.

Quinn - Quinn the eskimo, The mighty Quinn
Newton - Fig Newton, Isaac Newton, Wayne Newton, It's not a cookie its a fig...

you get the point

My wife chose Kaitlyn Anne for our daughter... I love it and her. Just wish she (wife) was still around. I wanted Harley for her and then my son (Dylan Chase) but my wife wouldn't go for it with our last name being Righter.

I know some girl babies...

Eliza Pearl, kid next door.
Emma Claire, wife's friend's daughter.
Cordelia, aka Delia or Dee Dee, my buddy's daughter.
Mia & Anya, sisters across the street.
Miriam & Danielle, co-workers' daughters.
Zoe Elizabeth, my niece.

If we ever have a girl, my wife has already chosen Rose Marilyn for her name.
