I've replaced all three isolators and buttoned up the left and front with no issues, but can't seem to get the right isolator to align to thread the bolt in(I know, it's supposed to be the easy side). The swingarm block it bolts into is too high and too far forward for the bolt to align.

I have the bike up on stands front and rear (Pitbull front fork stand and generic rear swingarm stand) and I suspect I need to put the wheels back on and let the bike stand naturally, then lift the subframe. That would fix the height issue but not the too far forward issue.

Any suggestions? I will post pics when I take them

If I understand you,

raise the frame up and the bolt should line up, make sure that there is nothing impeeding movement the act of rising the frame should cause a twist by the tie bars..

Thanks for replying. When I raise the frame, the bolt hole is a bit askew still in the forwards/backwards direction. I can get the heights correct but only half the hole lines up, like a Venn diagram. I still have to take pictures, the bike is at a family members garage. I suspect it was the removal of the rear tie bar under the plastic hugger, i had to adjust the length of it to fit the bolt back into the swingarm mounting block

When I did mine I for sure had to yank the frame around on the motor to get it to line back up. If you adjusted a tie bar you might be dealing with something though. The tie bars are set at the factory and you're not supposed to adjust those. Try loosening up the other isolators(although don't remove the bolts so they don't come out of alignment too) and then try moving the frame around again.

I have never had to do this. 01 updated parts.....id remove the tie rod and get your isolator set paying attention to the recall information or tech bulletin information about the updated isos. then it seems you will need to guess on the tie rod. next time you should consider selling the bike instead of pulling such a up as unadjusting an alignment rod.

Thanks for the input. Only adjusted the tie bar because the bolt would not line back up with the bolt hole without doing so. Sucks but I will try again this weekend with your tips. Also I have a picture, I will post below

The manual did not say to not adjust the tie bar. But I understand many folks here say not to and with good reason. I'll take responsibility for it.

I wish I could remember exactly what I did to fix mine. I'm pretty sure I just had to loosen the front isolator to get everything wiggled into the right spot. I know I didn't change the tie rod adjustment on mine, and my bike looked exactly like yours, so I don't think that's the issue.

Thank you for the follow up! I only adjusted the tie bar a few turns, not too worried that I cant find something close to the original setup. Also found some Badweb threads about it (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/601430.html?1288487815)
I'll unbutton everything to get it all loose and see if I can get it to work.As your thread says I Also thought about reinstalling the rear wheel to see how that shifts the swingarm, was just waiting for the wheels to get back from the shop. Installed new bearings front and rear

A little bummed about having to go loosen the front iso but thats just the way it is

I did it! Bike is back up and running.Thanks to all for your comments, even the negative ones

I was able to realign the swingarm and frame by leveraging with a breaker + cheater bar against the wheel and frame. Its hard to describe I will post a picture soon. Required three hands: one person applying torque on the bar, one holding the front brake, and me threading the isolator bolt.

As for the tie bar, I took the bike for a spirited run and noticed no issues with alignment or vibration. Bike stood up straight even with hands off the bars.

Glad to hear it!! I'm sure it felt nice to get it back on the road. I just renewed my insurance and registration after having the bike parked for almost 2 years, so I'll be right behind you.

Did you do the updated isolator with the smaller bolt? People go back and forth on whether it's better to just use the smaller bolt with a little extra play, or drill out the isolator for the old bolt. I found a compromise option, and found a thin steel sleeve/bushing online, I *think* with an outside diameter of 1/2" and an inside diameter of 7/16" on ebay. It was just the perfect size to remove the nut and slide right up inside the front motor mount so there's no play with the new bolt. Worth looking into if you just replaced yours.
