What do you guys think, is this a combination that could work in terms of just running right? Or would the muffler be too restrictive? I have the Supertrapp on there now, but I'm not a huge fan of the sound it makes and I also wouldn't mind the more civilized noise levels of a stock exhaust. Not saying I'm definitely doing this, but I was just wondering if someone on here has experience with a setup like this. |

Are you still running the stock cams? |

My S1 is a 1275 with Hammers Impact porting on the original Lightning heads. Stock cams, stock CV carb, 2" header with a Drummer modified stock muffler. I'm *hoping* for 90hp at the wheel. |

Think the stock muffler would kill the performance that you've spent time and money to achieve. The S1 and X1 cams are the same. They are also very close to the Andrews N4 cam. |

Check the dyno charts on Hammer's website. Numerous examples of how much difference between exhaust helping/hurting performance. |

Aaron from Hammer has mentioned that the stock muffler creates a "hole" in the middle of the powerband. Here's the thread from xlforum that he mentions it in. http://xlforum.net/forums/showpost.php?p=3642037&p ostcount=8 I still have my Supertrapp in case my Drummer modded stock pipe doesnt work out. |
