I noticed forcewinder sells a header for my M2, are there any gains to be made over the factory pipe ?

if your engine is modded you will see a gain in power with a force pipe. if engine is stock you will see a gain in noise, they are LOUD

Yea I’m not looking for loud, I’m looking for power. I have a stock pipe with a Vance and Hines slip on and I like the way mine sounds. My bike has been modded, has anyone tried taking off their muffler ? Does anyone else make a header ?

we all love noise but to a point youll look stupid as you go screaming by making tons of noise and going nowhere lol

M2 have stock sporty cams. set up for a little more torque than top end. if you want to make some more power you need cams. an engine is just a big air compressor. the more air you can flow the more power there is to be made (to a point)

you probably have an m2 with the later black thunderstorm heads. those work well.

dont take my word for it but ive seen a few forcewinder pipes with multiple cracks. i read on the site they have changed something to improve on it. i still think for the money the stock header with a slip-on is the best bang for the buck.

you can also try re-packing your muffler. it may need it. can change sounds and power too.

i feel a bigger muffler like a stock race pipe or Drummer made mufflers are probably better as they do more than a "straight pipe" they sound very nice and deep. not so raspy like a harley.

I have a tunable Supertrapp exhaust I put in 7 plates in and it's to freaking loud and holy crap did my low end torque disappeared. I have 3 in it now and it has a very nice low rumbble similar to a Ducuti.

I'm afraid there is no magic bullet when it come to exhaust (that I know of). I had a Kooks on my old S1W, muffler section resembled a cherry bomb. only 1-2 HP increase on the Dyno and that could go away depending on the weather. Better (simple) bolt on gains to be had on the intake side, such as an HSR42..

Others experiences may differ...

I purchased a race header for my M2 and would like to retain my V & H muffler but I’m open to suggestions. A.P.H. makes a muffler, has anyone heard one ?

Pro series header and muffler are very good performance-wise,for a modified engine.
It is also a relatively loud set up,but not annoying
if you like V-Twins.
