So I am finally starting to plan on finishing my cell. Traded my sports car in for a truck, my Daytona 675 needs nothing, and the harley really doesn't have any needs either...

After riding my 2014 Daytona 675 for 2 seasons, i can say that I really want better clutch and brake feel on my Buell. The levers that come stock are wobbly and I don't like the feel anymore. I want shorty style levers but nothing really comes up when searching. Will sportster levers work on my X1? If not, does anyone know where I can get a set of aftermarket clutch and brake assemblies to swap over?

Get ASVs. Best levers available IMO. Hundreds of adjustments and the fold forward in the event of a tip-over, to prevent breakage.

Will the XB models work on the tubers? I can't seem to find the tube frame specific ones yet. Gotta keep searching i suppose

I think they say they will, but I believe the actuating pin is ever so slightly different, and needs to be filed down a hair when using XB levers on a tuber. I don't know that for a fact, but its simple enough to tell. You just put it on and make sure the plunger on the master cylinder is all the way out. If the pin on the lever is too long, it will push on the plunger even when disengaged, causing excess brake drag and heat buildup.

What I did was take the opportunity of swapping levers to buy a used Radial master cylinder from a late Suzuki. Got it on eBay for $25, then bought the lever to match it. I actually bought the levers used as well, but that's another matter.

What advantage do you gain by switching to the suzuki master cylinder?

Here are the xb and tuber levers side by side,
clutch levers are exactly the same.









The xb brake lever is a bit thicker at the actuating pin ,so like Phelan suggested you have to file it down a bit.

Buellistic can tell you which Kawasaki levers are a direct fit, then you can check the aftermarket for those as well.

I've had CRG and surge quality is great, but they move to much, i have an asv one dude to arrive soon, also i'm getting a magura hydraukuc clutch set up, so i expect to have a good pair of levers, some time ago i saw a stock adjustable brake lever, there is a kawasaki one that is the same as stock but adjustable.

An XB CRG brake lever for the 8 pot caliper is a direct fit for a tube frame Buell (AN-521). But an XB brake lever for a 6 pot caliper (AN-531) will work on a tube frame but there is an issue. The cam length on the AN-531 lever is too short, and it results in free play in the lever that lets the brake light switch go off and on without any brake action being applied.

The opposite is VERY bad. If you put an AN-521 tuber lever on an XB, it will not let the MC bleed port come uncovered and your brakes can lock up.

Whenever I search for Buell on eBay, I get dozens of levers, all kinds (mostly the Chinese kind) so I'm surprised to read this. I like my American Sport Bike "fake carbon-fiber" ones, even if the brake lever adjustment wheel broke, had to JB Weld it. Couldn't find any fake carbon-fiber JB Weld either. ( My brake lever broke )

I just type Buell levers then refine it to used and there is over 100 hits. I have a saved search on all buell used items sends me whats new every day
