Author Message   Babired Posted on Monday, February 23, 2015 - 03:17 pm:        Hi Guys I'm getting ready to set up my X1M as my daily ride and the original gas cap is a pain in the..... and I have seen the thread with the gas cap repair. I'm looking at 2 options I saw a repair thing on e-bay that looks pretty simple to do for 50.00 or try a non-lock cap from a buell blast. The long axis of the oval hole on the smaller piece should be pointing toward the two big ears. Your existing lock nut should work fine, but if it is loose you might want to drill and safety wire it in position. Remember this is going into an environment of fumes and loc-tite will not work. I haven't put it on yet waiting for a 50 degree day to go out in the garage.
