I might just ride my S2 to CO in July = 3K miles round trip. I still have the stock seat was thinking if a corbin might make the ride more comfortable ?

A Baldwin saddle would make it more comfortable...just saying... lol

Loren I have a brand new stock S2 seat I may have you redo. also have the old one. Would really like the corbin seat pan though for you to recover. Will be in touch when ready.

I have a Corbin and I can't stand it. I like my modified stock seat better (modified by PO, not me). I plan to send Loren this Corbin at some point to have it reshaped and recovered : ).

I can tell you that I rode on a Baldwin seat to and from Arkansas from Indy and back, with a couple hundred mile detour, and was never saddle sore.
Like Jeff & Ross, I'd love to get my hands on a Corbin pan to send to Loren to have recovered. Thought I had one lined up after the Arkansas ride but my feeble memory dropped who the source was.
FWIW, a buddy borrowed my 1125 Baldwin seat to ride his bike from Indy to Deal's Gap. It saved his ass!!!

And this is where it turns into a tire thread, or an oil thread lol.

I have two Corbins for my S2 - Gunfighter, and Gunfighter & Lady. I also have an OEM that sits on a shelf. The &Lady is fully broken in and was on my bike when I got it...and I loveloveLOVE that seat. I've done 1000 mile days on that seat with stock S2 bars and S2T pegs.

The Gunfighter (pseudo-solo) is less broken in, and slightly less comfy. I don't know if the pan is shaped differently, if the base curve is different, or if the guy who broke in my &Lady had an ass shaped exactly like mine and I just need to spend time on the solo to make it match the &Lady...but it's just not *as* nice. Decent...but not perfect like the &Lady.

I also have a Corbin for S1W. As much as I love the &Lady on the S2...that's how much I freakin' H-A-T-E the S1W's torture device. If I had slightly firmer foam in the stock Euro seat on the S1W, I think THAT would be perfect on that bike. But that bike lives with the Euro on it.

The others in the stable? Factory tall seat on my 06 Uly, have done countless 1,000 mile / 16 hour days on that, solo *and* two-up. Buell pegasus seat on the 1125CR, 1k days are no issue there either (with clubmans and Uly pegs). '01 M2, also a pegasus seat, same result - all-day rides are no problem at all.

Ass shape (and natural padding) are important when choosing a seat, just like head shape is when choosing a helmet. You also need to consider riding position. Hip position. Weight loading and direction. And, I don't think there's a magical "sizing and shaping guide" for seat choices.

If you have the opportunity to work with a specialist like Loren, and the ability to tell him EXACTLY what you don't like about the stock seat, and where those pressure points / numb spots are when you're riding...THAT is the route I would take. I got extremely lucky that my &Lady is such a perfect fit.

I have a similar situation. Mine came with the Gunfighter & Lady, I have the original seat and a new Gunfighter seat.
For me both Corbin seats feel the same. My issue is that they seat you 3 inches or so further back than the oe seat which makes an already awkward riding position worse.
The oe seat feels great for about an hour. The Corbins are better for longer but put you in an awkward position. If you slide forward they are less comfortable and every time you accelerate you slide back to the stop which does little to inspire confidence.
A few months ago I had the Gunfighter and Lady reworked by a trimmer that does a lot of BMW seats over here. While I was less than impressed by the quality of his work, the seat itself is very comfortable. I haven't done any long trips yet but am optimistic.:

Until this point the only way I could stand a long trip was to use an air hawk on the Corbin.
I also find the tall seat on my Uly extremely comfortable for distance work.

With my inseam, I wish I was FURTHER back on my s2...have actually thought about getting the gunfighter reworked to accommodate that.

Loren does outstanding work! I've got one of his seats for My S3 and the craftsmanship and quality of work, and foam density are all top notch! I highly recommend him to any and all who are looking for a better seat.

It was seeing Loren's seats that made me want to change mine. By the time I'd shipped my seat back and forth though it would have cost a small fortune. There's no question that Loren's seats are of much higher quality than the one on mine above.
I'll see how I get on with the seat this year and perhaps find a local trimmer to retain the shape but get a more aesthetically pleasing finish.

I love the look of my Corbin but would need the footrests to be moved back three or four inches for the seating position to work for me. Look where the seat is relative to the pegs.

That's my issue with the Corbin as well, the seating position is for a much taller person than I. I'm 5'9", so I need the hump pulled forward about 3" forward, and the sides of the front cut down a bit so I can better touch the ground. I can't flat foot the S2 with any seat, but I can get a lot more sure footing with the stock size seat.

I'm just over 6' but still can't get on with it. The rearward seating position makes it difficult to weight the pegs when cornering. The standard peg position is already strangely forward when compared to other Buells - moving the seat rearward makes it worse. You've got lowish bars but almost a feet forward riding position - possibly a Harley hangover like the side stand?

I picked up one of the last crossroads rear set plates from Al but will have to get new rear brake lines made up to make it work.
It's worth the effort because I enjoy riding the S2 more than ever now. It rides and handles so much better than my Uly - fresher bearings and aftermarket suspension probably help there though.

6'4", my bike has T footpeg mounts on the sideplates that were the model for Jolly and standard bars.

Use your knees. Grip the tank. It's a very nice, very functional exchange for using the pegs to toss it through turns.

I have, two-up, dragged pegs while passing on the OUTSIDE at Road America at the 08 Homecoming "parade lap". My only complaint at the time was, her legs kept me from properly hanging off.

Stock Roma's, with a Works rear shock and PR2's.

I don't think Corbin has S2 base plates anymore- but if you can find a donor seat, you can ride to Hollister and get it recovered pretty inexpensively, and they will shape the foam for you there. Not taking anything away from Baldwin, but the recover on Rhonda's seat was cheap and they shaped the foam to my specification. I was pleased...

They are sort of local to you, and it's a nice ride to Hollister if you stay on the east side of the hills until you get to 152. Just sayin...

6' 3" with a Corbin Gunfighter and you're right, the seat is too far rearward. I ride my S2 seated at the front of the seat and seated like that it's comfortable for miles and miles. Not the way the seat builder intended it, I'm sure. But that's how I need to ride it.

One day I hope to fall over a decent Gunfighter & Lady and give that a whirl.

Just got my new to me Corbin back from Corbin, had the riders pocket moved forward 2 inches, it feels good sitting on it in the garage ready to go out and road test it.

I still prefer having the room. I can slide back and tuck in for longer rides; I can slide forward and toss weight around in the turns. The seat itself is neutral - it doesn't force me forward or back, it just lets me sit where I want, when I want.

Doesn't matter what I'm riding - Uly, 1125, S2, M2, S1 - I still slide myself forward when pushing it through the turns. Trick I learned from some riders more talented than I, at track days. I move forward when needed, lets me toss my weight around, puts more weight on the nose for handling...but I like being able to slide back for room...and for hard braking. Stoppies look cool...but suck for actually removing speed in a controlled fashion.

And I can practically stand up and push my S2 forward, out from under myself (if I take the saddlebags off!).

It is actually pretty close to the factory seating position. I myself like having the support behind me like this, had the same thing done when I ordered the seat for my S3 and really like the fit.

I have a 29" or so inseam but I put m2l shock on so I can flat foot no problem. The seat just too hard for long trips.

I like my corbins over the stock any day. I like a larger area to sit, and more room to sit back on the seat. I personally, don't like to be pushed up toward the tank. corbin will create basically what you want. I have been there with my buells before. You sit there with the maker, tell them what you want, and they make it for you as you watch and wait. they let you try it out and see if it is what you are wanting. then at the end of the day, you drive away, and your old seat is shipped to your house. My arrived at my house, almost before I got back with the new seat on the bike. great folks..
