Thanks for the correction, Court. I had forgotten about the earlier post. The brain is a bit lost this week. Jolly, If you need a sample bag, let me know. Somehow I've bought two bikes and the bags were missing.... Now that I think about it, it seemed like the original S2 bags aren't as big as the S3 bags. Some hybrid of the two might be nice once you get the original goal settled. |

Easy_rider - hanks for the offer, I think I have a full set of bags that will be just good enough for a pattern..(Thanks Phelan). the S2 bags are smaller but they fit into quite a bit smaller "hole" so you cant go much bigger. Court, based on what you have posted it looks like every logo used by Buell is now "legally dead"... so I could have these made with either the original S2 Pegasus or the new style without any legal issue. |

I don't think you'll have any problem. Personally...... To me the old logo says ..... " real Buell"..... "Elf" .... "Genuine" All the other goofy stuff is but years of Buell Distribution Corp (HD subsidiary) COMPROMISE. Funniest story was that last "shield" story ......and the crushing of the Blast era. Little wonder folks lost jobs. If you get the artwork done .... It'd be easy to do a run of "real" Buell shirts. |

Wow - Court, that there is an a huge piece of news for what Buell aftermarket there is, and what could be... I have a vector graphic done of the each of those logos - and with the abandonware status of same by the Beast of Milwaukee, I'd just as soon just release my versions under a CCW license, so anyone can take it and use it for stuff like this. For now, if someone wants to make some bags, just drop me a pm and let me know the file format you want. I am feeling inspired to slap up a blog post with .svg and .dwg files attached and just release them into the internets. Any reason why I shouldn't/couldn't do that? |

I've got several boxes of small parts that I had squirreled away . In one of those boxes I found an un-opened / un-used package containing an S2T fairing bag kit. I think I paid $35 for them . Should I put them on ebay ? or .......... |

$35 would be fair , it's probably going to cost $10 / $15 for postage. |

So, is having bags made now off the table, since Jolly found a set? I would definitely be in on them. |

I am still working this even though I scored a set. It will take me some time to get a set made but the good news is you should be able order them with any emblem you want once I get this sorted. I have not heard back from the original company in Topeka Ks, guess they didn't want to dredge into the old files so I'm going to consider that option closed. they were polite on the phone but I really got the sense (understandably so) that this was really not something they were really interested in getting back into based on potential low numbers and old closed files. they were not even sure the bags were actually made in the US, they thought they might have been sub contracted out, or at least its possible they were, didn't confirm and wasn't sure. My "path" that I have successfully used before for custom S3T bags (black with orange emblems for my orange frame and volcano grey bike) will take some time and I will stay on it, but if someone else wants to take this on with a source of their own that can turn this quickly...go for it!! I'll still keep working mine regardless. I did here back from the company rep stating that he was still waiting on a price quote, so they are at least staying in touch with me. Once I get a quote I will send off a set to use as a pattern (Phelan sent me his for the price of shipping so that we could get a set to sacrifice for patterns - thanks Phelan!!) |

I found a set of the first prototypes yesterday but they would not be of interest as we put no logos on them. |

Did you get a reply from the vendor you had been in contact with about reproduction fairing bags? |

Sorry for the delay, my daughter was just born a few days ago, so I've been "somewhat"(?) otherwise focused. I left a voice mail but need to follow up this week during business hours. this path is a little slow, as I believe the US rep must focus more on large accounts or large products, so the small bags are a low priority possibly. however I did have success with the last set I ordered for an S3, so I'm sure this will work out. I just need to really stay on top of it. |

That would be useful. Thanks That your bike? What are the levers? |

Yes, before new paint. I have unique handlebars, WesTek billet clip ons with stepped aluminum handlebars with 7/8" controls rather than the stock 1" HD controls. Levers are ASV forged, with a Ducati 999 Brembo radial master cylinder and a ZX6R clutch perch. I bought it with the modified handlebars but I added the perches and levers. A more recent pic Dash is also custom and mirrors are de-arched XB12R mirrors. (Message edited by Phelan on November 19, 2014) |

GOOD NEWS! apparently with all the excitement around here I missed an email from the company that I used to make the s3 fairing bags...they are ready for me to send in a set for a pattern which will help duplicate exactly and will help them determine cost per set. I will say that I was perfectly happy with the set I had made for my S3 with orange emblems to match the orange frame! I think I will be able to order any color of stitching for the emblem, and I can get the early or later emblem if folks want. This isn't going to be an overnight thing, but its winter so we have time... unless you are in AZ,lower FL, southern CA..etc and don't understand the term..."cold"... I'm not necessarily taking orders now, but I would like to get an idea of roughly how many folks are interested...I know, I know, it depends on cost... by the way, I'm not commercially advertising these or selling anywhere else, I'm just passing things and opportunities on to you guys.... |
