We shall see. I'm in the ER waiting to see if my left hand needs stitches...or surgery. May not be riding anytime soon : (

Sliced my L palm, between thumb and forefinger, last night. Let it droop and bleed for about 30 minutes to flush it. Checked motion - full range. No tingling digits. No burning sensations. Got saline, flushed it, packed it with Neosporin, went to work. Saw my doc just before lunch, and he shit a brick. "it's been open to air for HOW long???", sent me to the ER to get checked. The (EXTREMELY cute PA) asked if I could move fingers...I touched all four fingertips with my thumb, no pain, explained what I'd done to prep it last night, she asked if I wanted a job lol. Going to hand surgeon Weds - I can SEE my tendon, the cut is deep enough, but the surgeon is going to make sure it's not damaged.

We'll see how it heals, but I'd be surprised if I can hold a set of bars for long at all : (

If you do end up needing surgery, one of the best hand surgeons in the US lives in Portland, and owns a Buell.

Sorry to hear Joe,

Hand surgery blows BIGTIME, remind me to tell you some time((

My surgeon was Dr. Melone in NYC.

He IS THE BEST!! Don't take short cuts w hand surgery!!

He "repaired" 6 (2on left & 4 on right) trigger fingers on me this past winter, and also did carpal tunnel on both of my wrists & both elbows in 08.

Tripple the time they say for full recovery((

lmk if you need contact,

Hopefully not & just stitches.

Chris

Right now...it's just an annoyance.

Given my stint with PT and recovery in '08 (legs, that time), I'm fully aware of keeping a wound clean to prevent infection (had a graft in 08 that didn't take); know how to check for range of motion and identify strains/tears; and know the sensations of torn or infected tissue.

Right now...I have an annoyingly-deep, poorly-located papercut. I suspect Tuesday will be a waste of a co-pay...but I'm OK with that. Just sucks that I can't do a damn thing on a holiday weekend. Got a fuel tank to put in a '72 station wagon; got a Ulysses that I have to check the front wiring harness on (may do that anyway); got house projects to do (couple ceiling fans, build a shed)...I HATE being nonproductive.

I can totally relate!!!! Sure hope your hand is ok, I've damaged both hands with fractures, a couple of steel pins and such.... Sucks !!

Hope you're healing ok!

You're certainly welcome to ...drive a car.... And at least join us for a late lunch!

nah. That would be like trailering to bike week lol.

I got my PA loaded in the truck tonight - a pair of 18" powered subs, a pair of 12" 2 way powered tops, 100' snake, cable cases, monitors, digital mixing console, hand truck, mics and stands, enough to fill an 8' truck bed. No bleeding, not too much additional pain. Am I pushing? Absolutely. Will the surgeon yell at me Weds? Probably. But unless he tells me surgery is on the horizon...I ain't quittin'!

Glad to hear you are ok!

Don't have a time yet, but probably around 1:00 or later, will know more Saturday AM. Is your phone the same?

We're going to finish a few things up on Jeff's bike then ride.

out at Jollys in Maryland. Did the isolator changes and put new side plates on. The front isolator was joy to do. lol. So what is the idea behind the front isolator being on top or bottom of the frame depending on if you have a notched frame or not?? Followed the directions and put under the frame since no notched frame on the S2. Thoughts etc??

Court so mounting below which the directions say to do for non notched bikes is correct and wont cause any issues? We mounted it below the frame. Seat of pants ride it seems fine.

Jeff that is correct. I managed to fit my new front ISO above the frame, but it was interesting getting it in there. I just didn't have the time or desire to remove and re-torque the front motor mount.

KC, you missed a great "long weekend" of wrenching and riding! I know, its funny how life gets in the way sometimes...

Jeff's bike is a real looker with the classy custom paint job and really runs well. We had a great time both in the garage and on the road. hit some back roads that consisted of long sweepers, scenic byways and tight blind sections...even a ferry to cross the river into Leesburg VA. Day 2 was a big 250 plus run of highway to test constant highway speed, up to Front Royal to hit skyline drive at the top and then run down to the south, and back roads home after a burger and a shake at a little hole in the wall side of the road burger joint...Well over 400+ or so miles (500?) of some great rides.

Jeff - great to finally meet up and ride, glad the bike purchase turned out so well, and happy to have helped square up the deal for you, it sure turned out to be a great buy!

That bike looks fantastic going down the road!

nice looking ride...wish I'd gotten a call ; )

All I would have been able to do, though, is say "sorry, still can't ride". I haven't been on a bike yet - damn slice is healing fine, but it's in the exact WRONG SPOT for anything to do with motorcycles. Right where the weight and stress of the bar goes. Ow.

Jealous...
