A friend has given me a brand new Dunlop Sportmax Touring D205f, which I believe was the oem front tire on the 95 S2. I am having a hard time finding a matching new rear tire, as it doesn't appear that the tire is available in the US anymore. What would be the closest match for the front tire that I have? There are a lot of Dunlop choices, but I want something that is as close a match as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated! | ||

$240 (maybe a little less) gets you a BRAND NEW set of tires to your door. I just ordered a set of Bridgestone BT-S20's for my Cyclone, I think it was under $230 even. If that matching tire isn't even made anymore, I'd put it on ebay to defray the cost of a new set of matched tires. | ||

Look at the date code. A tire from the 90s could come apart at speed if you pushed it. It's not new. It's almost 20 years old. If your just putting the bike to stock and not riding then that's a different story. | ||

agreed. old tires would have me worried every time I passed 50 mph. especially in the corners. Remember, its the only thing between you and the pavement. | ||

Ditto on the old tires. Especially something from from the mid-90's. My safety is worth more than a free tire!! | ||

The tire technology has changed so much since then that today you can drag your knee on a tire that will last much longer than that D205. | ||

I haver a set of Original Dunlops I pulled off my 95 S2 when i bought it "new" in 2011. I'm keeping them for nostalgia, but would not trust them to ride. Only 239.4 miles on them |
