What is the difference between '96/'97 S1 forks, and '98 S1 forks with part numbers 46095-98Y & 46096-98Y?

My forks are WP and look the same, but I was told the part numbers 46095-98Y & 46096-98Y are 1998 specific, but can 'possibly' be used.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

I believe the '98 forks are Showas.

98s are still WP.
