I need a S2 price book. I have an insurance claim to fill out with literally 100's of items. Some of the prices are available doing searches for each item/part #, but very, very time consuming. Any ideas??

Jack,
I'm pretty sure I have an older Buell price list on my pc at home. I can't find it online within a few minutes. If it will do you some good I'll take a look. The prices are at least 10 years old, but you could take the few prices you have and come up with a defendable scaling factor.

I think you want the latest price book possible. I don't know if Buell did this, but HD would always raise the price way up on the final listing when a part was obsoleted.

Sadly, I cannot help.

Hey......Guys.....Thanks for the help!!. I just talked to the insurance company yesterday........maybe I can do some approximations.??

What started out as a total tragedy, may have a silver lining.
They are going to pay new replacement prices, so any "list" price Harley/Buell has will be used. Hundreds of items and a ton of work. ...(I hate "homework").

They said that they can do some price checking when I turn in the claim.......so I want to be "somewhat" fair/close.

Ride safe...Jack

We used to keep a ratio of "what a bike cost to buy vs. what it would cost to buy the individual parts".

You, if you do your homework, could come out in pretty decent shape.

When I had to do this for the Uly, I went in with a spreadsheet printed out that had the part, the part number (that I looked up in the parts book) and a blank for them to write the current list price in.

Handed it to my local dealer parts guy with an apology for the hassle factor, handed him the blank spreadsheet, and asked him to fill in the prices.

I was expecting him to be pretty annoyed, but he said he had to do it all the time, and was very appreciative of the fact that I had most of the work done for him. 15 minutes later I walked out with an itemized estimate that I could turn over to insurance company.

(Which the insurance company didn't even vet, and in fact they wanted to run up the price so they could just total the bike).

Court..You are right. When I had my bike shop, we would order an extra new model. A good mechanic would have it apart is a couple of hours. A complete parts inventory and part box for every part, at 1/3 the cost of the parts if bought separately.

Shane............the S2 is fine, as it was home in my garage. Thank goodness!! My 11 yr or so collection of S2 parts is pretty much gone.

Reepicheep....good idea....I thought of seeing the HD dealer and dismissed it right away. The HD dealer did a claim for my road king......(charged $100)......I will be super glad to pay that. Thanks for the remind.

I had a shipping container setting out at Woz's Moms house.........(you LONG, LONG time Buellers know him).........with all my S2 parts in it. His garage/barn caught fire and it spread..........(through the window of the container).........and torched most of the stuff in it.

Woz lost all his bikes, parts and tools. A sad day for him.

The bottom photo is when the fire inspectors had sifted through all the ashes and "recreated" the set up before the fire.

I thought about wether to post the photos or not............not a pretty sight. Time to read the small print on the insurance policy.

My renters insurance will not cover the storage container because is IS a building......(not personal property). Woz's home owners won't cover it because it isn't a "building".

They will cover all my parts at replacement value.......(the silver lining)

Ride save....Jack
