I saw this tail lift kit on their website and I was wondering if anyone has tried it. Comes from Italy, I wonder if it can be bought in the States/Canada?

We are the UK agents for Free Spirits and you can order it direct from us in the UK here. We ship to US customers every week.

It is easy to fit and requires no modifications at all. You can put the bike back to stock simply be removing the parts again.

I'd refuse to sell that piece of shit on the grounds it's a disgrace to motorcycle design ; )

I dislike the arse in the air look completely.

I think its the cheap way to achieve what I am going for with mine. Not for me although mine will have the appearance of a lifted tail.. . .

I have to agree with Rocket on this one. Not one to step on toes but it looks like a stink bug about to make a stink.

Looks like it raises the entire seat a few inches. The vertically challenged may be...challenged. Myself included.

I don't care for the stinkbug look either. Although I also agree the stock X1 seat/rear area has room for improvement. But it seems that almost no one has been able (or willing) to execute a good X1 rear end mod properly. Hasn't anyone successfully grafted an S1 tail section onto an X1? I would think that would be an attractive mod, albeit not a very comfortable one.

I take your point hootowl, I had forgotten about purpony's bike. Everything on his bike looks good. Still, surprised to not see an S1 rear or similar on an X1. I guess the square cut junction between the seat and the tank is tough to segue onto an S1 rear and still look "right."

It's odd to me how these are suddenly being done by a number of badwebbers, we used to have such good taste... typically Buell owners are those who spurn motorcycle fashion trends to start with. What's the point? As far as mods go (with the exception of paint) why bother if it doesn't make your bike faster, lighter, more nimble, or even more comfortable as many aftermarket accessories are designed to do - actually it's likely to make it harder to ride, even if all you are doing is short fashion parade jaunts.

As another old timey badwebber, I gotta say skip it... but eventually I guess it boils down to what you're gonna do to your bike, some of my mods are cosmetic as well (pulley cover, polished pipes and muffler, and colored brake lines).
