Just got Greg's drip-free oil filter funnel for christmas. Havent used it yet but test fit it and looks like its going to be a great handy item for oil changes... I have been looking at it for a long time and never bought it-

If you dont have one, i highly recommend it. It fits just right and basically snaps into place behind the filter - cant wait to give it a try.

Good post, didn't know anyone had anything for this. I usually just tear a plastic shopping bag in half and tie the ends around the engine behind the filter. This will be less of a hassle.

I always just cut a 1 or 2 liter pepsi bottle in half. Works just as good and is free!!!

+1 Preybird!

A similarly modified soda bottle also works well for draining the primary fluid.

But I use Dr Pepper. It's a West Coast thing.

I use aluminum foil instead. It conforms anyway ya need it too, and when you're done, crumple it up and throw it away. No cleaning neccassary

$26 for a cheap plastic 'semi-funnel' that you can make for free out of an empty plastic soda bottle? Let me think about this for a femtosecond...Ok, yeah, think I'll pass.

I use a bit of plastic guttering with a notch cut in the end for the oil switch. Does the job.

I got one for about half that price - swap meet or maybe fleabay.
Came with a length of tubing to extend the drain end to a can or tray, plus a "special" punch to poke the filter to allow it to drain before removal. (a 16d nail! pretty special, there!) Tray works like a champ. I haven't been able to get the soda bottle trick to work without making a mess. Being a pro woodworker, I'm betting I can find another "punch" somewhere around the shop if I ever lose that one they supplied with the kit.

Harley has sold them for years. Got mine cheap online for 10 bucks. Has the hose on the end for draining. Works great!
