Well I bought this Bi**c last year and have been riding the balls out of it. I've ran into a few problems I would like to fix up and share with you all. I plan on taking pics every step of the way and well its not a overnight project but never the less I would like to log it here... Here is a list of a few things I would like to fix. I get blowout from the head on the front cylinder so that is a top end rebuild, I lowered the front and would like to figure out how to lower the rear, just trotting around it shifts good but when chomping it second is a I've heard these things do this but I miss second almost every time and God Im giving it enough to wonder if I just broke it lol, New tires, Plugs and Wires, Ill add and to the pile as time goes on. Any advice or critics welcome let me know what you think.

I will also be doing stem bearings! I am looking for a Vapor gauge or another digital gauge that I can fit on the mount between the clipons and I will also be finding and buying new clipons that fit on the forks.

You don't need to pull the engine to service the top end or the tranny.
Everything can be done in the frame.

But remember to support the frame from above before you remove the motor mount bolts.

if you want to shift quick 1st to second, back cut the gears, i think zippers do it or sell back cut gears. makes a big difference.
good luck with your project.

I am looking to have the frame powdercoated the same color and polish the swing arm not to mention all the ugly oil everywhere. I have fallen for this girl and want to give her a fair shake. Thanks for the tranny info I will look into it.

I'm going to see how the digital copy pans out before I buy one thanks for the info though. has anyone bored the cylinders and to what extent can they be cut to. I want to run flat top pistons and turbo the bike. Haas anyone turbo mods and if so how do the valves do I mean do they float at all or is there a set of kit springs or something to upgrade the top end to handle boost...

if you want to run a turbo, would be easier with the motor small not larger. but the 1250 kit i looked at the cylinder liner was thicker than stock HD 1200. so would be stronger

Ill probably give the engine a once over and address the tranny and go from there then. I have a wiseco fuel programmer in it now and its a pita to use can I get the ecm flashed to run with the turbo and use a map sensor plugged in after the throttle plate to meter the fuel added based on the pressure or vaccuum of the air in the intake tract.. I was thinking about getting a autotuner for a sportster 1200 and replace the wiseco but since Ive been planning a turbo Im leanin towards just getting the ecm flashed right. does anyone know where I can send mine or ??? Still in the learning stage...

I think I am going to try to troubleshoot the transmission issue and I am starting with the primary chain and make sure it is in spec. I adjusted the shift linkage and it did way better today didn't miss a gear but it still chatters on the way in... I adjusted the Wiseco fuel tuner and it runs amazing now as well... I'm going to the hardware store in the am to pickup some lumber then off to tearing her apart....

I've been reviewing the book on the torque specs for the heads and they seem very much like a torque to yield. I have only ever done this when the head bolts would stretch to torque and not reusable... Do I replace the studs and nuts I'm sure yall have done this before. Pic coming but there is rtv silicone sticking out of the rocker box assembly and I am wondering if the PO was in there and didn't replace the gasket or bolts or both... Either way she is getting stripped from the crank up today. I've been looking at that billet aluminum motor mount from ASP does anyone have it and can you feel a difference in vibrating...

This is where the last pipes that were on it was rubbing on the frame.
