Its a 3 wire switch for a Dyna,OEM Buell switch is over $100.

Only down side is it won't be key matched.

Also the asb switch you will have to swap the red with black tracer with the red with white tracer wires to keep the ign sequence.

Just cut the wires off the back of the switch. Three wires, power wire on one side , other two on the other side. This way your plug-in is still intack and when you ever want to get a new switch, just unplug the toogle and plug in the new switch.

For a good quality Marine switch you'll need to go to a boating chandlery. Marine implies weather proof, unlike conventional switches which rust.
Don't forget to disconnect the battery first.

My X1 did the same thing. I drilled apart my switch and the contact for the ignition part was slightly melted into the plastic. I put a replacement switch in from Al @ asb and soldered the original plug to the new switch. It has worked fine since then. It's up to you, but I held onto my old switch and am trying to find one that is missing the key so I can steal the back plastic and fix my original to get back to one key.

Bottom line is if contacts are dirty or not making good contact will arc like a welder dose which makes heat and plastic parts will MELT !!!

The ignition switch melts because the current for the starter solenoid runs through it. My switch contacts were so badly fried that the solenoid wouldn't send the plunger into the contacts. I ran the wires through a relay activated by the ignition switch, and it works fine. The fried contacts still work well enough to operate the relay, and if the solenoid current fries the relay (it hasn't yet) well, relays are cheap.
