I found this on Craigslist in my area. Just wondering what you guys think its worth. It has a f'ed up title and looks like it needs paint and a few other various things. http://springfield.craigslist.org/bar/3513825238.h tml |

What a guy thinks his (fill in the blank here) is worth and what someone is willing to pay is the question in the sale of all things. By the photos, I suspect that the owner doesn't really want to sell it. Photos are dark, photos have a lot of background clutter, photos are not shot outside in the sun with flash, etc etc. I just bought an 1996 S2T in Kansas City for less with 22,000 on the odo. A lot better shape than this one. Picture of it right before I rode it home in next post... |

Don't have time to resize these photos to less than 103KB of my S2T this am. |

Sigh. Somebody ought to go rescue that poor thing. It deserves better. If he has a notarized title, it ought to be easy for him to transfer it to his name right before he transfers it to your name. Or if it is only filled out by seller, it can go straight to you (though you have to pay tax on the purchase price, which may have been much higher when he bought it). |

He wants 3500 for it and says he will fix the title. Which he says will cost him around 280 to get fixed. |

Sounds like he bought it and never titled it, which means if he sells it its title-jumping (illegal). Basically he hasn't paid his taxes on it yet, which they will collect when he puts it in his name. If he says it will cost him $280 to "fix", that means you can figure out the tax rate and title fees for his area and figure out how much he paid for it |

Id start at $2000, hard to tell by those pictures, could be hiding a lot. I paid $3500 for a mint one with new tires , a manual and a cover on it last year (Message edited by mtkawboy on January 11, 2013) |

I searched that on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=corNGc6EQ8g Is that stutter the rev limiter the whole time? Not a good sales pitch, I'd agree. |
