Was washing the bike today and noticed the new exhaust strap/bracket had broken after being on their for about 5 weeks. At 32 dollars i cant continue to replace them. I know a lot of guys on here run the force exhaust systems hoping someone has found a solution for this problem, any help is greatly appreciated

I run the Force exhaust as well. I've been doubling that bracket with stainless steel plates for a couple of years now. Every time it broke, I welded a 1/8" stainless steel plate over the broken area. I even had to weld the tab that holds the hanger to the engine, that broke too.
Another thing, I changed the stock exhaust studs for stainless steel studs from alloyboltz. I figured that when the front hanger would be solid enough to stop breaking, the exhaust studs would start snapping. Call it prevention, haha!

I can't tell from the picture. Does this setup use the factory 'Y' exhaust hanger at all?

Oh yeah. Those force pipes' mounting hardware aren't even worthy of the term "kludge"

I have seen those rubber inserts melt right away.

Kludge up something yourself. I'll wager you could do a far better job!

Yves would you mind posting a picture for your modified mount on here. Jim no the factory mount isn't on there but im sure if i were to put it on there it would help to control all the vibrations that are breaking the mount

I'll take some pics tomorrow of the front and rear brackets that I modified.
I'll tell you right now that the front is not pretty but it does the trick.

For the rear bracket, the original bolt broke so I drilled everything and went one size bigger. I used car shock bumpers (available at any car part store), a bronze bushing in the hole that is in the bracket welded to the exhaust, and a bolt, washers, and nut with red loctite.
Here are a few pics from different angles.

For the front, I basically welded 1/8" stainless steel plates everywhere it broke (at the 90* tab, the bolt hole, etc...). Due to the difference in thickness between the plates and the actual bracket, the welds are not pretty but they hold. I also had to double the bracket that bridges the engine and the exhaust hanger, that broke too. I did go one size bigger in mounting bolt on the front bracket. I also riveted pieces of exhaust wrap to the hanger to replace the orange rubber thing.
Here are a few pics.

X1_rider, try using the factory "Y" hanger you are mounting that thing behind? Re-route your clutch cable outside the hanger and you should have room. You have the correct parts but are using them incorrectly, maybe this set-up is part of a working solution for your previous problems?
Hardmounting it behind the hanger seems like it would be exposing the part to too many hard vibrations.

1250_x1, If the Force system deletes that front hanger it's stressing that joint, you really should cobble something up to ad some support to that connection and hook it to the front "Y" hanger, something like a kick stand spring could work well there. Like Jim said, looks like that front hanger isn't used.

Buellistic's advice on mount everything up loose and then tightening a bit at a time, doing a some of wiggling the whole thing at each tightening to make sure the system is free of stress is a good plan too.

my bike had a straight pipe with 'bubble gum' welds on the front of the pipe for a bracket. When it broke it took out my front header pipe 2" from the head. Begged a buddy and got it fixed, and found a stock muffler from 'that guy on ebay ' ( give him credit he helped keep mine on the road ) made some bushings and now all is well. Have a V&H on the way needing a bit of repair, we'll see how it goes!

Whatever bracket you fabricate, it's important to have it ridged with no opportunity to flex.Make the rubber mount absorb the vibration, not joints or bends.
The original L type is not heavy enough and breaks at the bend when the motor goes out of tune and the big vibes start happening.

Buellistic ..........that bracket was designed by Maz who runs the emporium and specialises in Buell repairs and service, it's a very cheap and simple but very very effective bracket, it supports the header and can from dropping and also from trying to swing for and aft. The biggest problem with the original race header mounting shoe is that the header is tapered at the point you are trying to attach the clamp , with this bracket the clamp is further back .

Just found the front mount on my Race Exhaust broken today. I'll put up a pic of whatever I come up with.
