Hi all, I am doing the oil change on my S2 for the first time and I have unscrewed the bolt of the oil tank and took off the filter and I would like to know if there is another bolt on the engine itself ? When I look at it I can see one but it seems to be the primary one.. Thanks. Oli | ||

You have it done with the tank bolt and the filter. The bolt on the bottom of the primary is for changing the primary/tranny oil. | ||

You're supposed to run the engine for a couple minutes before draining the tank. These are "dry sump" engines, meaning the sump is...well..dry. The oil doesn't sit in the bottom of the engine, it pumps in from the tank, through the filter and engine, then back into the tank to be circulated again. Sometimes, oil can leak down into the engine while the engine sits. That's why you're supposed to start and run the engine for a couple minutes, pre-change. That also heats the oil, helping it drain more quickly. | ||

Well, Thanks mates, In fact I did well, the engine was hot and ignition switched off 5 mn ago, there is absolutely no leaks ( which was not the case when she was serviced at my HD dealer ), after 8 years, I can at least work on her and I enjoy that a lot. Tara for now. Oli |
