Anybody know a good aftermarket relay, from like autozone or discount. Have had a rash of bad one's from my local HD dealer. They just click, if I tap them on the side while engaging starter they work.

Just take one out and bring it to them.
I hear they are just a standard part.

(Check the socket for corrosion first!)

Screw Autozone. Go to a real parts store and get Standard p/n RY-612.

Relays are pretty reliable. If you are having continual problems, you may consider looking elsewhere for the problem. Make sure you have good power & ground for the coil, good power to the common terminal on the really & that you're getting approx. the same voltage to the solenoid.

If it is possible to get the cover off the relay, you just clean the contacts ...

Of course like every thing else cleaning and adjusting relays is LOST ART and only OLD SCHOOL MECHANICS know how ...

Check your ignition switch. New relays shouldn't fail.

3 words. Ground, ground, and ground. Make sure your grounds are intact, clean and free of paint and or rust. Make sure you use star washers on all bolted ground terminals to the frame as well. Ignition relays very rarely fail once yet alone multiple times. Always a sign of another underlying issue. If you checked them already, then check and remake them again. If you have the battery recall kit on it, check it very close. Look for paint between the voltage regulator and the tray. Check for paint and rust under the tray at the ground strap location. I added a strap from the OEM location and then another to the battery tray.

Good Luck!
