I'm taking it back to stock. the Force exhaust is coming off and the stock pipe is going back. the photo technique is tonmapped/hdr.

@Hogluvr: That is a very distinct possibility. Trying to figure out what the right price is for it.

Kinda looks like the Force exhaust discolors the swingarm. How about the tire/rim?

Have you trimmed the rear seat unit?

The force is has made a mess of the swing arm, but I'm pretty sure that will clean up. I haven't seen any discoloration on the tire or wheel. The force is a mean choice for the M2, but the wrong choice for me. The stock pipe goes back on this bike tomorrow. I want this bike to be stock. I know, they may never be collectible, but I'm kind of purist. There's an after market air filter on it too that will go back to stock ASAP.

This one I'd consider customizing. Some performance mods (not a force pipe though) and an outrageous color combination. But I think I'm going to sell it.

Wow, the Orange one has color-coordinated training wheels ?

I like the black clutch cover on the blue bike. That's a neat photo trick on both.

Okay, 3 people have independently come up with the training wheel comment on this same picture.

Cool pic, I see a black clutch cover in my future. I wonder if a sign shop can come up with a buell stencil so I can sandblast a pegasus logo to shine thru in natural . .

Looks nice. I like the accent of the black cover with the black exhaust. Blue bike looks sweet, the other doesn't look too bad either, nice photo effects!

I agree on having a stock bike too though my M2 is far from stock, mostly that's because I have accepted that I will never be able to sell it and get anything out of it. Just gotta keep it.

My XB is almost entirely stock, except for mirrors, heated grips, and vest wiring, oh, and the comfort kit for the exhaust.

I've had a local sign shop make my tank emblems and a few Buell themed stickers for me in the past. Generally not too expensive and I get exactly what I want. I imagine they could do a stencil for you pretty easy if you provide the image.

The blue one just took a step closer to stock. The force pipe came off and stock pipe went back on. My neighbors will be happier with that. In a few weeks I'm going to back to the stock air cleaner too. I'm adding a chin spoiler too, i know it's not stock, but i like it. LOL

I think the orange one is going to go up for sale. either that or I'm selling the boat. In another thread I've talked about painting the orange one Chartreuse and Plumb and then doing some performance mods.

I want those black rims! Does anyone know how I can paint mine or get some black rims for my M2?

Wheels are not something most people get down on their knees to admire, so it only has to look good from 6 to 8 feet away. Most don't notice them period, so I'd try a rattle-can of flat black primer.

I concur with Jayvee except I suggest semi-gloss to match the frame finish, nice can of Krylon fusion would prolly do it. I've used it for touch-ups on my frame and to paint my chin fairing and the stuff holds up pretty well.

So, the Force muffler is gone and the stock pipe & header are back on. I took some engine degreaser, a soft toothbrush and a soft cloth to the swing arm and most of the black residue from the force is gone. There is still a yellowish color and elbow grease & degreaser don't seem to be taking it off. Any tips for taking the swing arm back to that mat silver color?

Just thought I'd give a little more background on the Blue bike.

It's a 2000 M2 with 3300 miles on it. No, I didn't miss a zero.

I am the third owner. According to a VIN check it was purchased New in 2006, sold to the second owner in 2010 and I bought it in December.

The story I got from the 2nd owner is that the guy he bought it from just had a lot of toys so it got rode, but not a lot.

The 2nd owner did a few mods, but saved the stock parts (YAY!). This is why it's going back to stock. Really, it's so clean it looks like it just rolled off the show room floor.

Get some "etching" wheel cleaner, I know Eagle 1 makes it. Take some plastic and protect everything around the swingarm, especially painted parts. Spray it on, let it work for about 15 seconds, maybe want to scrub some into the area you're having trouble with. Rinse off, swingarm should look brand new! Stuff works great to get that natural aluminum finish if used properly (read directions!), used it on the wheels on the ex's Blast that were starting to show signs of corrosion, they came out great.
