Just wondering how many Old School folks are original owners of their tubers? I bought mine (2000 M2) in late 1999 and have owned it ever since.

Bought my 2002 X1W new in 2004. It was the last leftover tuber at that dealership. Probably keep mine as long as I can ride, and maybe set it beside my rocker after I can not.

Bought mine in April 2000...2K M2. Best bike I've ever owned. Bought an 03 XB9R new and really liked that bike also, but when tight money forced me to choose. I still have my M2.

I got a great deal on my 2000 M2 in July of 01, it's been my daily ride, and gets parked in the living room afterward, ever since...

1999 S3, got it in spring of 01 New.
Dealership said it was the first (and only as ofthis winter, not asked since, it just came up in conversation) bike they ever truly lost money on.
Came with CF air cleaner and V&H pipe on it.

still have it, though now its a dragbike and sees no legal street riding.
I love it.

Although mine is currently up on stands awaiting a heart transplant I bought it Feb. of 2000 as a left over '99. Hopefully one of my kids will want it when I'm too feeble.

Rex,
I remember you and your modified M2 from the "Battle 2 Win" magazine days! I still have all the issues including the one with you mounting the S3T fairing on your M2. Looks like you didn't stop there! That's one sweet Cyclone!
Regards,
Don

Like an adoption love is far more important than being the "original" parent. Mine are all adopted but loved more now than ever. Proud owner of rescued tubers.

I bought my 1997 S1 in 1996 in Maryland. I do not have it anymore (sold it in 2007) but I have been paying for my sins. I have four S2s and subscribe to Gowindward's philosophy.

Rich:

That is amazing . . .

After Don Chase sold his RS . . I'm pretty sure you are the longest continuous owner of a Buell.

I've always loved the photos of your RS and that RS, I don't need to tell you is quite rare.

The Buell Pegasus logo on the front is the give away. For what seemed like an eternity Erik resisted putting BUELL on the nose. Then a Buell showed up in a race picture in a magazine . . but no one could tell it was a BUELL.

Dave Gess . . ever the voice of reason and logic . . could give you the details but from that day on Buells said BUELL on the nose.

I'm an adopter as well when it comes to tubers. Been a little over a year with my 2002 S3T, I'm the second owner as far as I know (and surely love it more than the first), and while it may get replaced someday as a daily rider, this is the first bike I've owned that I thought would be a 'forever' bike.

Well it has the WP suspension but the one piece fairing so it should be an early 5 speed.

I bought my 2002 M2L new in February 2003 and got a great deal on it. Before I learned about Buells, somewhere around 1998, I had never even thought about owning a street bike. I had always been a muscle car lover, but there was just something about an American made sport bike with the Buell attitude that grabbed my attention.

My poor bike has had a hard life where there have been a couple instances in my life where I was unable to ride for long periods of time due to injury or run-ins with "the man", but she's always forgiven me and started up with nothing more than a full charge on the battery. She's a little faded from spending time in the AZ sun, but she always puts a smile on my face after a spirited run!

I just hope that Erik can pull it all together and start another line of American bikes that I will be willing to ride/buy!

I was hunting for a Ducati when I strolled into Bob Dron's in Oakland and was slain by two very rude X1's. I began to pour over the sales literature for several weeks. But I had purchased my first house for my wife and young family and soon put my wishes aside planning to spend money on a hot tub for the backyard and some other improvements. Over the dinner table late one night my wife insisted that I "Get that Buell"...it was my 40th birthday year. So she got me "that Buell". Here it is...
