yesterday i picked up the latest copy of streetfighters,in it is a short article on lithium iron phosphate batteries by black and white bikes www.blackandwhitebikes.co.uk the super lightweight weighs 850g and measures 75mm x 75mm x 162mm with a 4.6Ah,240A maximum 10 second discharge followed by 120A continuous discharge(i have no idea what this means) i have seen some posts on here about these style of batteries and if theres anyone out there who can tell me if this battery would be ok to use on my 1999 M2??? before anyone says phone up the company,i have dealt with firms in the uk a lot and been ripped off a few times(trojan is one of the few who is totally reliable)and would expect one of two replies from them, either "yes its ok to use" or a vague try it and see answer, |

That's not enough cranking power for starting a Buell or HD (spit) twin reliably. (Message edited by fahren on December 08, 2010) |

Here is an offering by E B R: http://www.EBRacing.com/shop/product65.html Note same Amp-hours, only slightly more cranking amps (the real juice you need to start the bike). Heck, I don't know. Big, bad old HD (spit) batteries work pretty well. I guess I can lose 11 pounds of fat cheaper than I can buy a battery like that. |

That's pretty awesome a 2 pound battery. $400 sounds like a lot, but is less than I've spent on crap that didn't fit, didn't work, or both. (eBay-described-wrong-doesn't-work-no-refund.) |
