You can still buy the part new. I bought one about a month ago to go on the '99 X1.

I just ordered a brand new one from my local HD/Buell for $51.50 so I wouldn't bid to much higher.

Make sure you're buying the kit and not just the mount. The kit relocates the voltage regulator.

That's only if you don't already have one of these installed...

Mount only : S0121.01A1

Is the VR bracket really needed if you just want to replace the mount?

Mohsen,

Not if you already have that style on your bike.

No mine is all OEM set up. If possible, I'd like to just upgrade the mount and skip the VR bracket to save a few $.

If you have the old style mount, and the old style regulator bracket, you need the kit. If you're just replacing the Y bracket on a bike that came from the factory with a Y bracket, then you already have the new regulator mount. The Y bracket will not fit unless you move the regulator if you are retrofitting to an earlier model year.

Try this:

Thanks. I may be one of the few lucky ones but my "old" mount seems to be holding up quite well so far. I think its because I religiously followed LaFayette's installation sequence tips every time I removed and re-installed the exhaust system.

Mohsen,

The part number for the updated VR mount is : C0333.01A1
It's only $5.20 on LSHD.

I think you'll need the proper bolts yet too, not sure if the ones you pull out will work or not. Either way, it's cheap to put it together yourself.

Lets STIR up the PAST !!!

ie: SERVICE BUELLETIN from BUELL Motor Company #B-032 July 27, 2000 for PRODUCT PROGRAM BP7 - EXHAUST HEADER MOUNT RETROFIT KIT ...

THIS KIT HAS THE FRONT MUFFLER MOUNT IN QUESTION HERE ...

For 1995 - 2000 S1, S1W, m2, S2/S2T. S3/S3T, X1 Models ...

The kits were to be available on or before 31 July, 2000...

Kits must be ordered as required(take this to mean for the BUELLs sold by the Harley-Davidson/BUELL Dealer)and the purchase price will be reimbursed by warranty(take this to mean at no charge to BUELL "CUSTOMER" ...

Take this to mean that the said DEALER was supposed to notify their BUELL "CUSTOMERS" of recall ... WONDER HOW MANY WERE ???

ALSO WONDER HOW MANY Harley-Davidson/BUELL Dealers "CHARGED THEIR BUELL "CUSTOMERS" FOR THE KIT ...
