I'm visiting from the XBoard. Saw this in my local paper and wanted a professional opinion. Looks nice and fun but who thinks this is worth what they're asking?

take the 10.5k and buy three high quality used tubers...

With some shopping you could get an S2, S1 and a M2 to cover your bases of classic Buells.

I don't see how that could be called fast when it looks like it would drag it's pipes on the slightest lean. It might be fast in a straight line, but that's not where all the fun is.

I'm with spidey for sure. That or spending the extra cash on something to make your tuber even faster.

Not worth it by any means.

They took all of the parts they didn't use, sold them. Say they spent $3000 on the bike itself, sold about $500 worth of parts, then paid the typical $1000 for a rigid frame, and MAYBE $750-$1000 for aftermarket pieces, brings the total cost to what I would say at most $4000. So, if you like just giving a guy $6000-$6500 for putting that shit together, be my guest. But it's a waste.

What they used from the original bike:
Wheels, motor, forks, flyscreen, handlebars, handlebar controls, pulley, brakes, headlight...May or may not have used the stock speedo and tach (if it had one).

Frame, seat, gas tank, exhaust pipes, mirrors, some wiring, and some wrenching is just about all that's needed to build one of those. Such a waste I tell you.

It isn't worth $hit! Just another bad example of someone who took a great bike that handled great and turned it into a piece of crap ridged.

Yup, I agree with the others, even if paint was $1000 you would be throwing away a lot of money. Have seen much better execution of Buell mutant bikes.

Want a fast cruiser? Buy a wrecked Buell for the motor and stick it in a sportster or something.

Personally, I'd buy an S1W and either an S2T, S3T, or X1 in roughly that order. Gotta set a little money aside for potential seals, gaskets, tires, brake pads, registration and insurance. Those hidden cost will bite you.

today for the first time in my life I actually met one of those people. I was in the sauna at the gym here on post and we was all talking about bikes well on guy said he had a redneck chopper he built out of a sportster I told him I was glad to here he used a sportster instead of a buell as I am a huge Buell fan well he then tells me he has a 98 s1w that he rides every now and then that he does plan to do that with...

All I could do is walk out as I wanted so bad to punch him for wanting to do that to my dream bike.

People build bikes for many different reasons. I can't say I blame them for using a Buell motor so they can skip on building a sporty motor. I'd ride the bike.

2010 motorcycle? The motor in the bike is probably about 10 years old. I don't think I'd pay more than $7,000 for that bike, if that.

I'd pull the motor and frontend and put them back on a Buell... sorry... go chop a Sportster.

I like the bikes and I definately cant blame them for choosing a motor with actual HP numbers, although I do wish they would just use the wrecked out buells.
