Tony,
The pic of the Iso you posted at 7:25 is a -79D

I have been running them in both my tubers since 9/08.

Before the closing did they have an elf start reaming the center hole.

Shoot me a pic of a 79D

Well looked up a pic and they are similar.

But the Iso I have, the new one, has not part number and comes in it's own kit.

It does have a new center bolt that mounts it to the mount. So it may be a 79D

But I was privey to things during the process that this was a ground upper. They researched new materials etc...

When I replace the iso I will let you know if the bolt in the kit is a smaller diameter than stock...

Your pointer bouncing back a forth reminds me of my X1 with Iso stiffeners at a fast idle.

No not you, Lafayette wanted to ask the test Muell a question but rambled on about the 'Buellshite' part number...

FACEPALM!

I feel bad for the Muell now having wasting his (the Muell) time...

The first -79D $45.85
2 months later H-D jacked the price to $64.38.

"YES", "i" also noticed early on the BMC price being less where the H-D price was about double for the same part ...

IMHO, some of the so called H-D/BUELLDealers started to jack up the BUELL parts prices ...

That new Buell part looks VERY similar to the -79D (which is no surprise as the -79D is a great design). And in fact, with a "replacement" center bolt, in may in fact be one and the same.

To whomever has the new Buell part, can you explain if there is a larger washer (same diameter as the rubber) on the top of the isolator that is bonded to the rubber and is also part of the center metal sleeve?

It may not have the -79D part number because the durometer of the rubber may be different...

Spiderman:

So that every body understands and you have my permission to post what "i" sent to test Muell if you have it ...

The only thing that may be upsetting is:

How is this "BUELLschitte" Part Number Isolator L1501.8 so much better and different than the HARLEY-DAVIDSON PN 16207-79D ...

The reason "i" refer to this numbering system in this manner is that "i" am a OLD SCHOOL PARTS MAN and HARLEY-DAVIDSON UNIVERSITY Class of 1959 plus not grasping the logic of this numbering system ...

Your right it is Bullshit!

A new number and better price, HOW DARE THEY!!!

You know you could have asked,

"Hey is this iso the same as..."

"Hey is this a new type of compound..."

"Hey is the mounting what makes it better?"

What you should have NOT done...

"How is this "BUELLschitte" Part Number Isolator L1501.8 so much better and different than the HARLEY-DAVIDSON PN 16207-79D ... "

The Isolator may be the 79

OR

The 79 shape with a new formula...

Guess you blew that one. I guess that number system is just too darn complicated...

Sloppy,

If you see the pic I posted earlier, the tapered end is the top, and the description is as you stated.

With the kit comes another large washer that goes in-between the motor mount and iso.

And as before It could be but with different rubber and mounting.

From my buddies description it is super smooth and they did experiment with the 79D trick.

So my assumption is it is based on the 79 but upgraded with better rubber...
(as there is no part number imprinted on this new iso)

Thanks - there you have it folks.

--- Que inspirational them music from 2001 ---

The new (well, almost new) and unique (well, kind of unique) and much better isolator for your Buell! Though it's based upon the success of the HD -79D part.

--- Que Star Wars IV end of Death Star, party at the Princess' House music ---

FWIW, when I replaced with the -79D part last year it was definitely better vibration so I can only imagine what the new part feels like.

Nallac,
Yes, and 25$ vs 64$
I'll let you decide.

Buellistic, I am still embarrassed that I passed on that email to you.

You ever heard of the phrase that it isn't what you say but how you say it?

I figured a man of your experience would have known that by now...

Damn, I thought I was in the 1125 vice the Old School section for a minute.

I ordered the L1501.8 part from High Country HD (I got four of them). I think it was a little over 30 dollars but I cannot remember since I ordered some other S2 parts as well (three sets of rear isolators). They did not have them in stock but I did not expect them to since it is a new part. (They ship to me)

I am using the ones that are suppose to last 1500 miles but they have been going for six times that so I must be installing them wrong.

Thanks for the part number Spidey

I hate to see a couple of great Buell Enthusiast get pissed at each other.

FYI- The man behind that new iso kit was Kyle M...... An engineer at Buell. He fortunately got a job at GE engineering MRI and X-ray machines. I'll ask again, what company was better to their loyal customers than Buell? To go back to an 8 year old bike design and re-engineer so you can keep on enjoying it for many more years, un-heard of.

Kyle and I were had several discussions about this part. He was working on this in parallel with a bunch of higher priority jobs, with a lot of the work done on his own time, and getting this part finalized was his last official Engineering change order at Buell prior to exiting. I've been waiting for this for a few months now, glad to see it finally popped out. We'll be stocking this as soon as I can get some.
